| Aline de Lima - Menino Açai |
 |
Música (gravado ao vivo) da secunda cd
"Açai" por Aline de Lima.
Valé a pena, é linda!
Ela escreveu:
"I, Aline, fruit of Maranhão will always
remain Aline, rooted in the red and ochre
earth of this fiery country, even when I sing
in French or in Swedish, even when my voice
is carried over the internet, the telephone
or on tour..." Tags : Aline de Lima Menino Açai Brasil MPB |

| Acai Berry - Abios : Diginfo |
 |
DigInfo - http://movie.diginfo.tv
The Acai berry has been gaining attention as
a fruit rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants
that can be a supportive supplement for
anti-aging, fatigue recovery and diet.
Abios uses only 100% pure all natural berries
and provides the supplement in a powder form
including Acai freeze dried powder, beverage
powder and other powder forms.
The berry, which can be found only along the
banks of Amazon River, provides a surprising
amount of nutritional value. It has three
times more polyphenol compared to wine and
4.6 times more anthocyanin than blueberries,
and a substance called cyanidin 3-rutinoside
(C3R) that is found in the berry provides a
greater anti-oxidant effect than carotenoid.
Therefore, Acai berries are the most
anti-oxidant rich plant of all natural
plants.
Acai berries are also rich in potassium, iron
and fiber and contain the same balance of
aliphatic acids as olive oil.
However, acai berries have not been
commercialized in the past because processing
needs to be done within 24 hours after
harvest to prevent oxidization, which causes
all the nutrients to be lost.
Abios established a processing plant on site
to freeze dry the berries and successfully
produces a 100% pure powder with strict
quality control. In the future, Abios intends
to collaborate with companies abroad to
provide the worldwide market with the acai
raw material. The company also plans to
commercialize acai in Japan beginning next
year. Tags : Acai Berry Abios Amazon river fruit health diet food |

| Açaà with the Kayapo in Brazil |
 |
The Kayapo Indigenous group of Pará, Brazil
eat wild açaà that grows in their protected
rain forest. The health of the Kayapo and the
rain forest are in constant jeopardy. Loggers
and miners threaten to deforest the area as
big as the size of New York State. The Kayapo
need to generate a sustainable income from
their renewable forest products to meet their
needs and ward of the mass infiltration in
their area. Dr. Rodolfo Salm, tropical
biologist and Dr. Lisa Feder, cultural
anthropologist, are raising the money to
reforest barren lands with açaà trees, a
source of nutrition for the Kayapo and a
potential source of sustainable income for
this people. For more information, contact
