Klagenfurt (ORF) - Jörg Haider ist tot. Der
Kärntner Landeshauptmann und BZÖ-Obmann ist
am Samstag in den frühen Morgenstunden nahe
Klagenfurt bei einem Verkehrsunfall ums Leben
gekommen. Haider war nach Angaben der Polizei
mit seinem Dienstwagen von der Straße
abgekommen. Das Auto dürfte sich
überschlagen haben, Haider, der allein im
Fahrzeug war, erlitt schwerste Verletzungen,
denen er wenig später erlag.

Oct. 11 2008 (Agencies) Joerg Haider, the
Austrian politician who once praised Adolf
Hitler's employment policies and visited
former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, died
in an automobile accident today. He was 58.
Haider, the leader of the nationalist
Alliance for Austria's Future and governor of
the province of Carthinia, was driving his
car in the south of Klagenfurt when it veered
off the road. He suffered serious injuries to
his head and chest and died at the scene of
the accident, his spokesman, Stefan Petzner,
said.
Haider was born on Jan. 26, 1950, in Bad
Goisern in the Upper Austria province. His
father was a shoemaker who was wounded in
World War II. His mother was a teacher, and
both were supporters of the Nazis. He lived
with his wife Claudia and two daughters in an
inherited estate that was owned by Jews who
were forced to sell the land after the 1938
German annexation of Austria.
Haider won support among Austrian voters by
using anti- foreigner and anti-EU slogans.
Third Reich
His most infamous comment came during a 1991
debate in the Carinthia provincial parliament
when Haider, then governor, declared that the
Third Reich managed to eliminate unemployment
through an ``an orderly employment
policy...which the government in Vienna
cannot manage.'' He resigned over the
controversy.
In March 2001, he told voters before
municipal elections in Vienna ``we don't want
more foreigners here, we don't want them in
our apartments and we don't want their
children in our schools.''

This is a Turbine Enstrom Helicopter on the
Heli Pad of a Greenpeace ship some where off
the coast of Ireland. One of the deck straps
has not been released correctly, with what
was very nearly disastrous consequence. Pilot
skill and quick thinking saved the day.

1988's CRASH, was The Primitives most
successful of their singles from their first
album, LOVELY. It earned them a UK Top 5 hit
(and made the U.S. Top 3). This was a great
achievement for an indie band from Coventry,
England. The album, Lovely is considered by
many as one of the top Indie Pop albums of
that era and has influenced many other
commercial and indie artists.
The Primitives broke up in 1992. Unbeknown to
them; Crash was remixed and showed up on the
soundtrack for the film, Dumb and Dumber. The
"95 Mix", as it was called, was given
slicker, more commercialized production
including additional guitars, percussion,
organ and backing vocals. These additions
were performed by faceless studio musicians
and not by The Primitives.
Over the years, around a dozen cover versions
have been made by various artists.
Interestingly, the more indie artists cover
the original version, while more
commercial/younger artists are in reality,
covering the "95 Mix", familiar to them from
the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack.
From 1986-1992, The Primitives made three
full-length albums, LOVELY, PURE, and GALORE
and about 15 singles. Several collections are
available containing singles, b-sides, radio
sessions, alternate versions and other
rarities.
*The Primitives also made some earlier demo
sounding versions of Crash prior to this 1988
single/album version.

Aside from my GTA shorts, I have made a
series called Funsy Attacks or Accident
Prone. This is the first one.
I grouped a couple of video clips showing
well...pretty stupid and accident prone
people, put together with music. The song is
