During student days in December 2006, Iranian
students showed their opposition to Islamic
regime of Iran and to Ahmadinejad by holding
his upside down photos and burning them
during his speech... Iranian students held
large demonstrations at different
universities with messages that called for
better economy, peace with the world and
Freedom of expression. They carried slogans
such as: "Leave US alone, think of bread" ,
"We need bread, not bombs", "Free political
prisoners" and " and "injustice is dressed as
religion

This is the first part of the speech of the
president of the Islamic Republic of Iran at
the Amir Kabir University in Tehran, this
speech has been widely reported but not on
what has been said but on the actions of a
group of students, shouting death to the
dictator, burning the presidents picture and
exploding firework. You can see them in the
back of the crowd when the camera turns.
Usually the shouting of the anti-Ahmadinejad
crowd (in the back) is answered by an even
louder shouting of the pro-Ahmadinejad
Students. I haven't translated the slogans
since its hard to hear them distinctly, the
chants are mostly: God is Great ... death to
america, britain, israel... I will try to
translate the other parts as soon as

ranking officials from western countries

This is were he starts talking the corruption
in Iran, and what happened when he started
fighting it. He also talks about the
corruption of previous administration
officials, most likely the last presidents,
and their connection to the press.
This part gives good insight on the iranian
economic situation and its hardships.

trying to avert him from pushing the nuclear
issue planning the overthrowing of the
iranian government.

the student sing, this is nowhere near the
anti ahmadinejad event the press would like
us to believe.
I tried to translate as close to his words as
possible so some things might not be so
clear, the saying in the first minute for
example says that the sanction only look hard
from afar but when you really look at them
they are worthless.
