| Antarctica Time lapse: A Year on Ice |

Time-lapse video filmed in Antarctica, in and
around McMurdo Station and Scott Base.
Each year the sun is below the horizon for 4
months in the middle of winter, and above the
horizon for 4 months in summer. During the
couple of months in between we have
more-or-less normal days.
Includes shots of auroras and the very rare
polar stratospheric nacreous clouds, which
form when ozone depleting gases crystallize
in the upper atmosphere in the intense cold.
Summer population is about 1200 people,
winter about 200.
This is just a small sample of an ongoing
project to collect time-lapse imagery of
Antarctica. I have taken over 1,000,000
individual photos and worn out a number of
cameras that make up the collection of
footage I have gathered so far over the last
6 years. Eventually a film will be released,
keep an eye on my user page for more info in
the future.
Check out my other videos as well for more
of life on the Ice.
For those of you who have been asking about
the music I used here, the first piece of
music is "Whirl-Y-Reel" by Afro Celt Sound
System, the second is "The Grand Finale" from
the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack by Danny
Elfman. Both are available at most music
outlets. Tags : Antarctica Time lapse Ice Aurora McMurdo time-lapse Scott Base South Pole timelapse Antz Anthony Powell northern lights |

| Antarctica Lies |
 |
Antarctica, one of the Earth's last great
frontiers and one of the most foreboding
environment to life. Freezing temperatures
battle against biologic metabolic functions.
They also keep water in its solid, ice state,
making the continent the driest "desert" on
the planet - another challenge to life in
this unforgiving environment. It is precisely
for these reasons that Antarctica has come to
be regarded as a laboratory for the
inhospitable conditions that obtain
extra-terrestrially in the solar system. As
such, Antarctica has come to be known as the
"closest place to Mars." Tags : antarctica south pole hollow earth ufo big lie |

| Antarctica 07: Punta Arenas Cemetary |
 |
Perhaps the most interesting place in Punta
Arenas, Chile is its magnificent cemetery.
Filled with ornate mausoleums and decrepit
plots with marble worn to unreadable side by
side in the middle of the city, it's a quite
a sight. The names are spectacular if not
humorous, handles like "Diego Herberto
Midslovic" help tell the story of a town
built on many cultures. Dating back to the
1840's, it overlooks futbol fields
overlooking the Strait of Magellan. You may
notice wild poppies growing among the flower
beds.
Have your speakers (or headphones) ready.
The song is "Green Grass" by Cibelle. Tags : Alan Maschek Antarctica Palmer Station Punta Arenas Chile |

| Youtube Poop: Haruhi Conquers Antarctica |
 |
In 1942, navigator Suzumiya Haruhi led three
ships, the Pina, the Ninta, and the Asahina,
on a voyage to find a faster route to Mars.
After several minutes and almost losing her
crew to starvation, she arrived at a body of
land, where the friendly natives (bowling
balls) offered her gifts of shampoo and
chocolate chips. Haruhi saw this as an
insult, and immediately commanded her troops
to open fire on the confused natives.
That body of land now belongs to Haruhi.
Unfortunately, today's historians refuse to
acknowledge it, and instead put all their
interest in restoring the endangered bowling
ball species.
If you would like to make a contribution,
please talk to your history professor or
lunch lady. If they ask you if you're high,
don't worry, it's a secret code. Enjoy! :) Tags : Youtube Poop Captpan6 Why do they call it baked-lasagna? The only way you can make lasagna IS by baking it!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
