Mika - Love Today music video
Did you know???
"Love Today" is his third, not second, single
from his debut album Life in Cartoon Motion.
The first is "Relax, Take It Easy" which
failed chart on the original release in the
UK; however, the song has become a huge hit
in Poland where it reached #1 on the official
Polish Airplay Chart.
Mika has a vocal range of five octaves.
His sister Yasmine, who works as an artist
under the nom de plume Dawack, painted the
cartoon art for his album Life in Cartoon
Motion.
He was trained by a Russian opera
professional hired by his mother to break up
the torpor of being at home all day because
his mother pulled him out of school at the
age of 11 due to his dyslexia condition which
deteriorated into what he calls "a little
breakdown", and it took seven months to find
another that would accept him.
Mika and his sister started to create all the
characters for his songs about a year before
he made his record. "Even after I got signed,
the record company thought I was insane
because I was just sitting there drawing
characters saying, 'This is what the album's
gonna look like'. They were like, 'You
haven't chosen a producer yet.' And I was
saying, 'It doesn't matter'."
He wrote Grace Kelly -- "a screw-you" to a
music company that wanted him to be a little
more of the smouldering singer-songwriter du
jour and attached the typewritten lyrics —
"Should I bend over?/ Should I look older,
just to be put on the shelf?" — to a demo
of the song and sent it to the executive who
had turned him away. Tags : mika love today music video |

| R.E.M.-The One I Love |
 |
.E.M. is an American rock band formed in
Athens, Georgia, in early 1980 by drummer
Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist
Mike Mills, and vocalist Michael Stipe. The
band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame in 2007.
Throughout the 1980s, the band released an
album per year for seven consecutive years,
from their debut EP in 1982 (Chronic Town)
through 1988's Green. They also toured
constantly, playing a variety of venues, from
theaters to backwoods dives. Along the way,
their sound influenced many bands, from
jangle pop groups of the mid-'80s to
alternative rock bands of the '90s. The band
became admired for its slow, steady rise to
stardom. R.E.M. found itself established as a
key element of the burgeoning alternative
rock scene of the 1980s. Upon attaining
major-label success at dawn of the '90s, the
band was able to put forth broader political
and environmental concerns while playing
large arenas worldwide, and retaining most of
its artistic credibility.
In 1997, Bill Berry amicably left the band,
leaving the band as a three-piece. Through
some reinvention R.E.M. continued their
career into the next decade with mixed
critical and commercial success. The band
expects to release a new album with producer. Tags : Concert |
