The Polish Army's 1st Special Commando
Regiment (Polish: 1 Pułk Specjalny
Komandosów, 1 PSK) is one of the three
special operations forces currently operating
within the Polish military's structure.
Thanks to the unit's high recruiting
standards, and a special training programme
the Regiment implemented several years ago,
the unit's soldiers display a higher level of
skill and professionalism, when compared to
other Polish forces. The Regiment's troops
are trained to undertake a wide range of
special missions during war time, with its
troops being capable of conducting air
assault, helicopter, and parachute operations
(including HALO and HAHO operations);
strategic and tactical reconnaissance
operations; raids and ambushes; combat diver
and underwater attack missions; providing
support to other specialist units during
hostage rescue operations; and other missions
as deemed necessary.

Wojsko Polskie (WP, Polish Army) is the name
applied to the military forces of Poland. The
name has been used since the early 19th
century, although it can be used to refer to
earlier formations as well. Polish Armed
Forces consist of the Army (Wojska LÄ…dowe),
Navy (Marynarka Wojenna) and Air Force (Siły
Powietrzne) branches and are under the
command of the Ministry of National Defense
(Ministerstwo Obrony Narodowej).
Polish Armed Forces took part in the 2003
invasion of Iraq, deploying 2,500 soldiers in
the south of that country and commanding the
17-nation Multinational force in Iraq. In
addition to this, Polish soldiers are
currently deployed in five separate UN
Peacekeeping Operations- UNDOF, UNIFIL, EUFOR
and KFOR. Total international deployment of
Polish military is over 4,500 troops.

SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics; originally
Special Weapons Assault Team) is a
specialized unit in many United States police
departments, which is trained to perform
dangerous operations. These can include
serving high-risk arrest warrants, performing
hostage rescue, preventing terrorist attacks,
and engaging heavily-armed criminals. SWAT
teams are equipped with specialized firearms
including submachine guns, shotguns,
carbines, tear gas, stun grenades, and
high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers).
They often have specialized equipment
including heavy body armor, entry tools,
steel reinforced boots and night vision
optics.
