Lyrics:
Hey man, I just tried to log in now
It said, "wait man," you won't believe what I
found
I said, "what the...," are the YouTube
servers dead?
Oh no! My account has been suspended!
Hey now, what the hell did I do?
I typed quickly, an email to YouTube
And I waited, for them to write me at once
But all I got was an auto response
It said I received a D - M - C - A
Viacom and Fox sent a D - M - C - A
No more live Fall Out Boy, or those Britney
Spears gigs,
No more clips of Spider Pigs
I was just served with a D - M - C - A
Viacom and Fox sent a D - M - C - A
It was one episode, of that Family Guy show,
Can I just pretend I didn't know?
So I fought it, haven't they heard of fair
use?
They said "no dice, you also thumbnail abuse"
I said, "wait, what?? So do half your
partners"
They said, "yes, BUT they bring in the
dollars"
I was just served with a D - M - C - A
Katiesopinion sent a D - M - C - A
It was just a short clip, I can't believe
that bitch
Had the nerve to report me
Now I have to deal with a D - M - C-- A
Can't log in 'cause of a D - M - C - A
Don't want to leave the YouTubes, but what
can I do?
This wouldn't happen at Live Video
Parody of the Village People's YMCA.

About EFF
From the Internet to the iPod, technologies
are transforming our society and empowering
us as speakers, citizens, creators, and
consumers. When our freedoms in the networked
world come under attack, the Electronic
Frontier Foundation (EFF) is the first line
of defense. EFF broke new ground when it was
founded in 1990 — well before the Internet
was on most people's radar — and continues
to confront cutting-edge issues defending
free speech, privacy, innovation, and
consumer rights today. From the beginning,
EFF has championed the public interest in
every critical battle affecting digital
rights.
Blending the expertise of lawyers, policy
analysts, activists, and technologists, EFF
achieves significant victories on behalf of
consumers and the general public. EFF fights
for freedom primarily in the courts, bringing
and defending lawsuits even when that means
taking on the US government or large
corporations. By mobilizing more than 50,000
concerned citizens through our Action Center,
EFF beats back bad legislation. In addition
to advising policymakers, EFF educates the
press and public.
EFF is a donor-funded nonprofit and depends
on your support to continue successfully
defending your digital rights. Litigation is
particularly expensive; because two-thirds of
our budget comes from individual donors,
every contribution is critical to helping EFF
fight —and win—more cases.

My time on YouTube may be over... I may have
infringed on the copyrights of the authors
and creators of the "This I Believe" audio
series and if so I'll pay the price for it...
If you posted a video response to any of the
"This I Believe" videos and would like to
attach them to this video that would be cool
with me. I thank you all for helping bring
attention to the great body of work "This I

UPDATE!!! 6/6/08
A note to the You Tube community from Dan
Gediman, Executive Director, This I Believe,
Inc.:
Many of you may know of the recent issue over
videos made by Paul Robinett (aka Renetto)
that consisted of him reading, in their
entirety, essays from the This I Believe
series that we produce for public radio. This
I Believe is an international project
engaging people in writing, sharing, and
discussing the core values that guide their
daily lives. These short statements of
belief, written by people from all walks of
life, are published on our website at
http://www.thisibelieve.org/ as well as in
regular broadcasts on public radio. The
project is based on a popular 1950s radio
series of the same name hosted by Edward R.
Murrow.
When we learned about these videos, which
were made without our permission, we were
understandably concerned. We approached Mr.
Robinett, informed him that the works in
question were protected by copyright, and
asked him to take them down, which he did
promptly when asked. I want to stress that we
took this action not motivated in any way by
censorship. We fully support freedom of
expression. We were trying to protect the
copyrights of the essayists who wrote the
words that Mr. Robinett was reading verbatim.
When these writers granted rights to us, they
did so with the understanding that they would
be used for very specific purposes, such as
broadcast on public radio and being included
in a book. For this reason, we had no choice
but to ask that the videos be removed.
Since that time, we have been in contact with
one of the essayists in question, Phyllis
Allen, who has given her permission to Mr.
Robinett to re-post his video of her essay.
Given this fact, we are also granting
permission for Mr. Robinett to do so,
provided that proper copyright attribution is
included and that he does not personally
profit financially from the essayist's work.
In the coming days, we hope to contact all
the other essayists in question to see if
they would allow permission for this usage as
well.
We are not at all opposed to anyone who
wishes to make similar videos of their
favorite This I Believe essay. We simply ask
that they contact us first to receive
permission and proper copyright attribution
from us and the individual essayist. You can
reach us at
http://www.thisibelieve.org/contact.html. And
if you would like to submit your own essay to
the This I Believe project, please visit
http://www.thisibelieve.org/agree.html.

What do you think about the DMCA and the way
YouTube is handling this problem?
Does YouTube need to suspend user channels
for life?
Is that what the copyright holders are asking
from YouTube?
Does the YouTube policy do anything to help
deal with the real problems concerning
copyright infringement?
Is this the best that YouTube can do to
protect themselves, their users and the
copyright holders concerns?
Does YouTube even give a shit?
I would love to hear your thoughts...
YouTube is watching...
NPR is watching...
The World is watching...
Let your voice be heard
Like I said... people are watching... check
this out.

| Canadian DMCA Unspun |

A look at what is really at steak in this
debate and actions of copyright holders in
the past. Not only could your family video
be taken off of the net, in Canada you could
face fines of up to $20,000 per copyright
holder with the current wording of this bill,
which is a very realy possibility. I think
it's time to close the generation gap. Tags : Canadian DMCA Bill C-61 Lawrence Lessig |

| C-61 in 61 Seconds: The Canadian DMCA Video Competition |
 |
Canadian Industry Minister Jim Prentice
introduced Bill C-61, which many have dubbed
the Canadian DMCA, in June 2008. There was
an immediate outcry from thousands of
Canadians concerned that the bill would
render illegal every day activities and harm
both consumers and businesses.

one way that you can speak out. Just post
your video as a response to this video. We
will post the best videos on the
FairCopyright4Canada channel. Deadline for
submission is September 1st. A great panel
of judges that includes the Barenaked Ladies
Steven Page and Ontario Privacy Commissioner
Ann Cavoukian will select the best of the
best. The winners will be announced on
September 15th.
To make sure that your voice for fair
copyright in Canada is heard, be sure to
