| BF2 Hit Detection Test |

*****Please read at least this*****
**** Version: v1.4
**** My Ping: ~53
**** target's ping: ~86
NOTES: I did not modify the game in any way
to make this video. No CFGs or alterable
console values or whatever -- NOTHING was
modified.
I was ducking when I shot the sniper rifle,
although the sniper rifle is accurate in all
stances.. proning and ducking barely
increases sniper rifle accuracy at all - only
slightly.

a friend and I joined an empty server
(someone else's server where we got ~70 ping)
and tested the hit detection for battlefield
2. it's pretty ridiculous.
maybe understanding where you need to aim
will make this game a little less frustrating
for you.
The game displays a small yellow "X" over
your crosshair if you successfully land a hit
on an enemy, but because of the reduced
resolution and the video compression, it's
somewhat hard to see when it does show up in
this video. so i added a Beep sound
indicating that the "X" popped up. if you
want you can view it in fullscreen if you
want to make sure, and see the X's for
yourself.
hope this helps someone..

| Using Static Analysis For Software Defect Detection |
 |
Google TechTalks
July 6, 2006
William Pugh
ABSTRACT
I'll talk about some of my experience in
using and expanding static analysis tools for
defect detection. The FindBugs tool developed
at the Univ. of Maryland is now being widely
used, including inside Google.
I'll give an overview of FindBugs, show some
of the kinds of errors we routinely find in
production code, discuss the methodology we
use for enhancing and expanding FindBugs and
some of the recent additions to it, discuss
ways of incorporating FindBugs into your
development process (such as being able to
get a report of all the warnings introduced
since the last release of your software), and
talk about the future of static analysis,... Tags : test java google |

| Learning Rules for Anomaly Detection |
 |
Google Tech Talks
August 10, 2007
ABSTRACT
Anomaly detection has the potential to detect
novel attacks, however, keeping the false
alarm rate low is a challenging task. We
discuss the LERAD algorithm that can learn
concise and accurate rules for anomaly
detection and demonstrate its effectiveness
in network and host datasets. We will also
discuss our recent work (KDD 07) on weighting
versus pruning during the rule validation.
If there is more time, I can also talk about:
As mobile devices become more pervasive, we
study the problem of spatial-temporal anomaly
detection for identifying potential abuse. We
discuss the STAD algorithm and show its
performance on a cell phone dataset.

| Michael Shermer Tests the Polygraph and Lie Detection Part 1 |
 |
Can the polygraph machine really
scientifically measure if someone is lying,
or are all those graphs and numbers just
pseudoscience in the service of law
enforcement? Can we tell if someone is lying
to us by their body language or facial
expressions? Michael Shermer puts both the
polygraph and lie detection to the test in
this dramatic episode that features O.J.'s
jury consultant lie detection expert. Tags : Shermer Polygraph Lie Detection Lying |

| OpenSpime CO2 detection concept video |
 |
OpenSpime is a project of WideTag Inc, a
technology infrastructure company providing
hardware and software solutions for an open
Internet of Things.
Our technology enables individuals and
corporations to better understand their
environment, through the use of a series of
GPS-enabled sensors. We provide a set of open
APIs and communication protocols to manage
the data collected.
This video demonstrates the functionality of
a working OpenSpime prototype detection CO2
levels. Tags : openspime co2 level sensor earth monitoring global warming spime spimeid social hardware open internet things |

| Face Detection by PS3 |
 |
I was viewing photos on the PS3 using the
Portrait slideshow mode when I noticed
something rather interesting. I knew that in
this slideshow mode, images zoom in and out
slowly, using Ken Burns effect. But I did not
know that the region of the photo that is
zoomed into is determined using some sort of
face detection algorithm.
I decided to test myself whether any face
detection was being done. Here are the
results using some test images I downloaded
from the Internet.
Notice how in almost all the cases, the PS3
correctly recognizes the faces in the image
and either:
1. Starts zoomed out and ends zooming into
the face
2. Starts zoomed into a face, and then zooms
out
3. Pans across the image covering all the
faces. Tags : PLAYSTATION3 PS3 face detection slideshow portrait ps3 playstation3 |
