Gold fuming is one of the easiest and most
dramatic ways to add sophistication and color
to your work. It's a fairly inexpensive way
to create custom intensities of gold pink
without reduction. You'll see how easy and
how much fun this process is, as well as
learning the proper flame settings for this
process. Fuming vaporizes metal and deposits
it on the surface of your glass. It can also
deposit it elsewhere...like in your lungs.

Watch Lauscha's "Master of Montage," Thomas
Müller-Litz, create a complex vessel with
gorgeous soft, colored tubing. He assembles a
number of sections end-to-end, reverses the
axis on the middle section, and he makes it
look so easy! (It isn't!) Thomas is the last
generation of a 400-year father-to-son family
flameworking tradition. His own son is a bit
of a rock-n-roll star, not currently pursuing
glass. This is a condensed version of our
