Europa Cover
Europa means more to me than words can say.
When I first heard it I was a beginner
guitarist and imagined playing it as a novice
mountain climber contemplates climbing Mount
Everest.
Then I learned to play guitar, joined Free
Verse, performed this song hundreds, if not
thousands, of times, and lived to post it on
YouTube.
Miracles do happen.
Free Verse was known for its faithful,
powerful Santana covers from its inception,
and it is poetic justice that such a
recording of Europa be posted today under the
Free Verse name.
As I watch and listen I re-live the many
wonderful performances with my awesome,
talented bandmates at Free Verse.
Here's to you:
Gerry Magallan, Chris Guerra, Dan Rodriguez,
Pete Galvan, Gabe Medina, Dave Johnson,
Miriam Cancel, Chat Gomez

| Daisy Jane by Free Verse |

"Daisy Jane" is a beautiful ballad by the
great classic rock band America.
America was originally Gerry Beckley, Dewey
Bunnell, and Dan Peek.
Gerry wrote Daisy Jane along with many other
of America's wonderful ballads including "I
Need You" and "Sarah." Gerry can also rock -
he wrote "Sister Golden Hair," a number one
hit.
Gerry, an eclectic, energetic artist, works
on his own music and collaborates with many
other acts. Gerry has released three
wonderful albums of his own, Horizontal Fall,
Van Go Gan, and Go Man Go. Go to

Dan and Dewey are both also extremely
successful songwriters.
Dan wrote "Don't Cross the River," "Lonely
People," and "Today's the Day," all three big
hits. Dan had a little more country to his
sound than Gerry and Dewey. Dan left America
in 1977 and went on to be a highly successful
Christian rock artist.
Dewey is a master - if not genius -
songwriter. He wrote "Sandman," "Ventura
Highway," "Tin Man," and "Horse With No
Name," the band's first number one hit.
Dewey's songs tend to have motion, great
guitar strumming, and outdoorsy, ecological
themes.
In the 1970s America was Warner Brothers' top
act, outselling mega-stars as big as Stevie
Wonder.
After Dan's departure Gerry and Dewey just
kept on going. Today America is in its 36th
straight year of playing over 100 gigs per
year! Their most recent album, "Here and
Now," was released in 2007. It's a wonderful
CD combining new originals, songs by other
much younger artists, and awesome live
performances of many of their old hits.

Free Verse is heavily influenced by America.

heavily influenced by America and "From
London to LA" is a tribute song about
America's move from Europe to the US
immediately after the success of their first
album.
