Anderson Japanese Gardens, Rockford,
Illinois, is internationally renowned as one
of the premier Japanese Gardens outside of
Japan. Situated on a twelve acre site and
comprised of an authentic Japanese
pond-strolling garden, guest house, tea
house, gazebo, stone lanterns, and
waterfalls, as well as the Garden of
Reflection, and a contemporary garden with a
strong Japanese influence.
A Japanese Garden is designed to allow the
visitor to reflect upon the tranquil beauty
of nature. In doing so, one is led away from
the stresses of everyday life. The serenity
one feels in the garden instills a sense of
calm and enables the visitor to commune with
nature and thus one's self.
The following video is a compilation of
stills taken on a trip to the Gardens with my
Mom, on 8/9/06. They are presented in the
exact chronological order that they were
shot, preserving each step of our journey on
that day. Tags : Japanese Garden Anderson Rockford Illinois Zen Meditation Nature |
