constructive negative comment or you've just
wasted your time typing a retarded comment
because i'll remove it :)
Something a few people don't understand is
what would of happened if this was left how
it was (pking, trading etc). Basically when
Jagex take your payments from credit cards it
goes through a different company that
processes these transactions called
'worldpay'. A lot of the bots memberships
were paid with stolen credit cards, when a
stolen credit card is used to pay, Jagex need
to refund that money AND pay worldpay to
perform a 'chargeback' (reversing the
payment), so those of you who think the bots
earn Jagex money are wrong, they cost them
money. The stolen credit cards were likely
being used so often that Worldpay has
probably given Jagex a warning about it. If
Jagex didn't do something about it, it could
of lead to them being 'blacklisted' by
Worldpay and/or certain banks meaning they
would not be able to accept credit cards as
payment anymore. Looking at a recent poll,
not being able to accept credit card payments
would have likely bankrupt Runescape or
sevearly affected it much worse than the
removal of pking/inbalanced trading etc.
Which payment method do you generally use to
subscribe? Credit card - 75%
75% of players who would need to switch their
payment method, many of whome wouldn't be
able to, so wouldn't be able to play on
members anymore, some may not be able to
afford the other payment methods, since most
are more expensive. It would have a much more
severe effect on the game than Jagex's
updates, not to mention a lot of good came
from these updates too, which quite a lot of
people seem to be overlooking.
It's kinda annoying seeing everyone complain
about not being able to pk/trade etc. Most of
them don't understand the reasons why, so i
highly doubt many of them read the
development diary. But they are almost all
just complaining - Not helping, by thinking
of ways it could be changed while still
stopping real world trading. Jagex need
suggestions not "omfg wtf!!!111 what did u
do!! n00bz!11 ican't pk omg im gona quit
everyone riot world 18!!1111" They WILL NOT
change it back to how it was, they are only
considering ways that will allow you to pk
AND stop real world traders. The old wild
obviously doesn't check both of those boxes,
so it isn't coming back.
Also these updates have put an end to or
majorley reduced - Hacking, item scamming,
luring, real world trading, begging. There
may be more, but those are the ones i'm aware
of atm. All these were massivly crippled in a
single days updates.

Well, Mod Matt P, a RuneScape Jagex
Moderator, appeared at the Fishing Guild out
of the blue, and players who were fishing
were of course, very shocked. They started to
ask him many questions and the Jagex Mod even
banned a bot!

I have a bad habit of moving the arrow keys

Many were affected by the removal of PKing
and the implementation of the Trading Cap on
10 December 2007 and 2 January 2008
respectively. I am one of them as well. But
I've recently seen a huge decrease in the
number of bots since these updates were
released. Bots no longer rule the land of RS.
This video is indirectly about bots and how
JMods reacted to the macroing issue which
once existed in RS.

on ice barrage :( Jagex still hasn't told
anyone why they decided to make such a
drastic change. ...
When you barrage someone now, they are
initially hit and frozen with a cube. For the
20 seconds that the person/people are frozen,
you will only hit them with stars.

I logged onto Runescape and what did I see?
Four new updates were listed, "Wonder what
they could be?"
Real world trading is bad, its "evil" they
say...
A new Jagex fight against cheaters today!
Real money for gold, their raking in lots.
Kill all the autoers, kill all the bots!
Removing unbalanced trades, *What the fuck is
that?"
Means all those merchants will never get
their phat!
Farewell birthday gifts, no more helping a
friend.
No more running nats, *Just where will it
end?"
This 1st post was painful, yet I just pressed
through.
But I held my breath as I opened number 2.
Trade and drop changes, seems like lots of
chatter.
I clicked on the link to see what was the
matter.
3k gold pieces is now the trade limit.
No more getting Barrows, unless millions are
in it...
Drop parties are out, drop transfers are too.
A gravestone is left if a Fire Giant kills
you.
No more getting rich when a noob makes a
mistake.
Those items are no longer yours for the take.
I could not believe, in what was to be...

Revenant ghosts? Now that's a low blow!
