| James Whitmore for Barack Obama (Los Angeles - 10 Dec 2007) |
 |
http://obama-edwards2008.blogspot.com/
Gibson Amphitheater, Universal City, Los
Angeles.
James Whitmore's speech for Barack Obama.
Yes, your favorite blogger was at the Gibson
Amphitheater in Universal City, Los Angeles -
up front with all the other members of the
press. Senator Obama was at the top of his
game and in Presidential form, delivering one
of his most powerful speeches yet with the
support of 5,000 Obama volunteers and voters,
Hollywood actors and actresses, Ne-Yo, and
the Goo-Goo Dolls.
However, what impressed this blogger the most
was the diversity of the crowd. Every ethnic
group and every subculture was uniquely and
equally represented, making it absolutely
clear that Barack Obama has the best chance
to unite America. As a progresive and an
agent of change, Senator Obama made it
absolutely clear that he can be the leader
that moves us past the gridlock and toward
the progress that this country needs.

| Chicago- Robert Lamm- "Truman Mania" (1975) |
 |
This was seen on a nightly newscast April 13,
1975. America was feeling nostalgic in the
wake of Watergate. Harry Truman had recently
passed and was becoming the centerpiece for
all of this nostalgia. Books, articles,
plays, documentaries were flooding the stores
and airwaves after his passing. Robert Lamm
was inspired by this wave and contributed by
writing the song "Harry Truman". It was a
minor hit in the Summer of 1975 and can be
found on the album 'Chicago VIII'.
Trivia: You'll see actor James Whitmore in
this clip. He's now 86 and is still one of
the hardest working men in show business. He
currently has a regular role on the CSI
series.
