In the sound track of the singer's life,
composer, guitar player, (indeed he is a
multi instrumentalist) arranger and producer,
among stages and records appear the most
respected names of national and international
songs, such as, Michel Legrand, Paul Mauriat,
Jon Hendricks, Jane Duboc, Ivan Lins, Leny
Andrade, Proveta, Joyce, Hermeto Paschoal,
Johnny Alf, Tim Maia or Flora Purim.
His virtuosity and talent allowed Filó
Machado to travel from Ribeirão Preto to the
world, begining from the United States,
Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France
to Japan, besides taking part of "Rendez Vous
Brasil/Cuba" Concert together with the
saxofonist Jane Bunnet, in a turnê all over
Canada. With songs wrote in partnership with
Djavan, Aldir Blanc, Sérgio Natureza,
Taiguara, Judith de Souza, Sérgio Ricardo
and Fátima Guedes, the composer also had the
opportunity of making concerts in
Corsega Jazz Festival and in Uzeste Jazz
Festival, in France. He opened Nina Simone
Concert in Cannes Jazz Festival.
Now the North American people are the biggest
appreciator of Filó Machado good
music. Since 2000, his CD "Cantando um
Samba"(Malandro Records - Ohio-EUA) has been
collected compliment from the jazz
specialized critique and even from the world
music, through famous publications like Down
Beat, Jazziz, Jazz Now and Rhyhm.
Besides appearing in the list of the 44
titles indicated for the Grammy -best Latin
jazz album -- which also led him to the stage
of the music world temple: in October, 2001,
invited by conductor Ettore Stratta and by
producer Pat Philips, he divided the Carnegie
Hall stage, in New York, with Gal Costa, Dory
Caymmi, Toots Thielemans, César Camargo
Mariano, Jane Monheit, Romero Lubambo and
Paula Robison in the
concert called "40 Years of Bossa Nova".
From this point on it was more than natural
for him to get to the Snug Harbor, in New
Orleans, or to The Bird of Paradise Jazz
Club, in Ann Arbor and even to the Night
Town, in Cleveland. The American turnê was
his fourth one in this year.
He has already made concerts in Canada (at
Uma Mas, in Toronto), Japan (in Takasaki and
Tokyo), Denmark (at Jazz House, in
Copenhagen) and Pays Basco (Altxerri San
Sebastian).
Nowadays the Lua Discos Record is putting in
the market (lançando) "Porto Seguro" which
has songs still not published and new
interpretations of Filó Machado. The
essential Brazilian repertory also encloses
"Maracangalha", from Dorival Caymmi and
"Maria Três Filhos", from Milton Nascimento
and Fernando Brant.
In the other tracks of the album, the singer
--accompany by talented artists as Arismar do
EspÃrito Santo, Léa Freire, Neylor Proveta,
Robertinho Silva and Laércio de Freitas,
accomplishes a true parade of preciosity like
"Novo Testamento", which
he wrote in partnership with Nei Lopes, or
"Quatro Elementos", with Aldir Blanc.
Filó Machado has recorded his new CD by
Malandro Records which has been put in the
market (lançado) in 2003. His guests were:
Kenny Barron, César Camargo Mariano, Romero
Lubambo, Paulo Braga, Steve Turre, Nilson
Matta and Teco
Cardoso. In 2003 his CD "F to G" has also
been put (lançado) in the Japanese market
(Filó Machado and the percussionist
(percussionista) Guennoshin.
His first CD by Maritaca Record is still
being recording, with special participations
of Toninho Horta, Arismar do EspÃrito Santo,
