| CGRHD reviews MAD CATZ XBOX 360 ARCADE JOYSTICK |
 |
Classic Game Room HD reviews the MAD CATZ
Xbox 360 arcade joystick. This
jack-of-all-trades joystick controller is
meant to appeal to those who want arcade
style action and performance with modern next
gen functionality. This review of the Mad
Catz controller shows where Mad Catz went
right, and where they went dreadfully wrong.
It is a USB controller which is good for
keeping costs down, but not a terribly arcade
style retro controller by any means. If you
are downloading arcade classic video games
from XBLA Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360
like Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Xevious or Streets
of Rage 2 is this the joystick controller
that you should buy? Did MadCatz make the
best controller for action gameplay or did
MadCatz make merely an acceptable controller
for you to spend money on? Watch this and
other Xbox 360 and PS3 accessory reviews here
on Classic Game Room! Even thought this is a
review of a USB controller it won't work with
the PS3 or Wii game consoles, or PC.
Strictly a USB controller for the Xbox 360
video game console. Tags : classic room video game games gaming madcatz mad catz arcade controller joystick xbox 360 review of xbla reviews buy wii |

Mad Catz Cymbal Review-
Let me start off by saying, if you are
looking to get these for competitive play;
don't. If you want to get them for fun, hell
yea get these cymbal additions :D I really
recommend getting 3 of them for the full
experience because let me tell you.....I
first put 2 on there and I was hitting the
cymbal when I shouldn't have xD haha (ie blue
when it was green, green when it was blue)
Setup:
These are pretty simple to setup, you just
gotta take the connector they give you, and
make sure you SNAP them together before you
do anything. If you don't snap them together,
the cymbal poles will slide off, I learned
this the hard way lol You put the connectors
on each side of the drum and tighten them all
the way so they won't move. Then slide the
cymbal pole into the smaller connector end
and tighten. You place the cymbal in the top
of the pole and make sure you have the
V-groove on the bottom of the cymbal sitting
correctly in the cymbal pole so it goes snug
together. Make sure that you don't over
tighten the cymbal to the pole because you
will get cross talk and dropped notes.
Quality/Sound:
Its a hard rubber material, and a plastic on
the outside disc. These cymbals are pretty
good quality for $20 a piece. They come in
cheaper for a double pack $30 or triple pack
$40. I couldn't find the triple pack so I
bought two double packs (which is good for a
back up) I made a video how to make a stand
for the cymbal here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q87X9mnx17U
This stand could be useful for the hi hat
cymbal to make it far to the left if you want
to play cross handed. They are a little loud
so you might want to put some foam or
something on them to quiet them. Another
kinda bad thing is that they are flimsy (not
too stable) and make the drums shake lol For
a good example watch when I'm hitting the
ride long streaks. Its not too bad though, I
was thinking of adding some reinforcing...
Reliability:
The cymbals take getting used to. I still
find my self completely missing them lol and
missing a note streak which is why if I'm
making a video for score, I won't be using
the cymbals. They are no good at long streaks
of notes such as in Who are You or the intro
of FP/LT, unless you get a good cymbal which
can do it. I mean, its ok sometimes but not
as reliable as the pads. Again, not for
competitiveness. Also the lack of rebound
makes it difficult on long streaks of notes.
Final thoughts:
I recommend these cymbals only for when you
are playing for fun or going to be playing in
freestyle. The added sounds in the cymbals
gives you 8 distinctive sounds (hi hat, ride,
crash, snare, three toms, and bass pedal)
these work in freestyle and in fills. This
addition also make the RB drums even more
realistic, the only missing part is a open
close hi hat pedal which would be amazing.
People can't be saying play real drums when
they add that hi hat pedal because its pretty
dam close :) 9/10 because you can't use them
for competitive play. Tags : Mad Catz Cymbal Review Hier Kommt Alex by Die Toten Hosen rock band dlc expert drums gold stars |

READ THIS FIRST FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
NOTE: In the part of the vid where i make fun
of him for calling the ride a splash, I am
NOT saying that there is no such thing as a
splash... The only thing I'm saying is that
he is a douchebag that can't play drums and
doesn't know anything about drums... IN OTHER
WORDS, THERE IS SUCH THING AS A SPLASH SO
STOP WITH THE COMMENTS
This is Scott Lowe from IGN testing out the
official Madcatz Rock Band 2 Cymbals
Each cymbal costs $19.99 if bought
separately. If you buy the whole cymbal pack,
it costs $39.99
When I first saw this video, I realized that
there is a freestyle mode in the game which
is sweet since the cymbals are coming out
later in October.
I probably won't get Rock Band 2 for a while
for two reasons:
1.It hasn't come out for the PS2 yet.
2.I don't have the money O_o
UPDATE:I am definitely not getting rock band
2! I am TOTALLY getting Guitar Hero: World
