Game 1 - Boxer vs Nal_rA
Nal_rA has had quite a busy schedule lately,
with the continually ongoing Proleague
matches, MSL, and more recently the Blizzard
WWI. Its up to anyone's imagination how
these players get ready for their matches.
But now Kang Min finds himself playing the
Terran Emperor, whom he just played 2 days
earlier in the Proleague. Nal_rA won that
match.

I'll say it right now, when it comes to
Boxer, Yellow, Reach and Nal_Ra, I'm biased,
and I really hate watching them lose! just
like any sports fan hate seeing their
favorite teams lose. but much stronger :P
So to be fair- this Pringles MSL 04.2006 to
07.2006 Finals between sAviOr and Nal_Ra was
won by sAviOr, three games won and one game
lost... and this VOD shows the one :-)
A bit of history while I'm at it:
sAviOr has previously won the Uzoo MSL by
beating [Oops]Reach in the finals, and got
2nd at the Cyon MSL against ChoJJa. He has
yet to challenge an OSL title (but with his
current skill, he will soon enough! ranked
2nd in KeSPA as of 02-08-06)
Nal_Ra has previously won the Stout MSL by
beating [Red]Nada in the finals. He also got
2nd at the MyCube OSL against Kingdom, and
won the NHN Hangame OSL by beating ZeuS in
the finals. I hope he and Boxer will both do
very well in the upcoming MSL.

to write a full description, I'll just leave
it uploading and edit later on.
Nal_Ra plays white, Rage plays red.
Note: if you're wondering about sounds,
IntotheMSL don't always record the pure 1st
person sound of the players, and sometimes
even if they do its still mixed with the
sound of the original observer game, so if
for example you hear morphing Gateway and you
see nothing, it could very well be the
observers looking at the other player. Same
in TvZ games or any matchup if you see the
1st person of the Terran you'll still hear
Zerg background sounds, but of course the
observers will always view the main battles.

Very short game, what I liked about this VOD
is how they switched to First Person view
exactly before the action started which was
nice.
Here's an interview with [Red]Nada before the
tournament started, thanks to Essare for
English translation:
Q: How does it feel to be in both major
leagues again?
A: I don't know what to say, it's been so
long since I've participated in an individual
league. It feels good to be able show my
games to my mother and my fans, who have been
waiting a long time.
Q: Who do you think will be your biggest
challenge (rival)?
A: Well.. let's see, there are a lot of
rookies this season - they've been doing well
during my absence from the major leagues and
I want to test their play myself. So.. I
guess everyone.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: Well I used to go watch movies, go out
drinking and travel a lot with my friends.
Recently, though, I just like quiet places.
I'd like to go find some nice mountains with
fresh air.
Q: What do you think of your nick name "Sea
Otter"?
A: I'm used to it now.. it's even considered
a natural treasure.
Q: Do you have any jinxes?
A: Things don't go to well if I happen to
wake up really early in the morning, or when
I get something unexpected on my schedule on
the day of my games. Last Dual Tournament I
had an unexpected event (he doesn't say what)
scheduled which messed up my gaming rhythm.
Q: A lot of the oldschool gamers are having a
slump. What do you think about that?
A: Well saying that the oldschool gamers are
having a slump is correct, but I think saying
that the new rookies are getting better would
be a better assessment. There's virtually no
skill difference now, and everybody, old and
new, has to practice hard if they want to
win.
Q: Before televised matches you play zerg to
warm up.. is there any particular reason why?
A: No, not really. I just like getting mutas
and picking off workers. It's fun.
Q: Oov has always picked you as his rival,
what do you think about that, and what do you
think are the differences in your play?
A: I've always had great respect for Oov's
play, I think I'm a little lacking to be
called his rival. Oov has a better overall
feel(vision) for the game - that's something
I would like to learn.
Q: Anytime you wanted to quit progaming?
A: When I was with KTF. My gaming record was
good, but I was the youngest on the team and
had difficulty adjusting. I even went home a
couple times.
Q: You always seem to meet Nal_Ra at
important stages.
A: Well we're just playing because we both
got through the qualifiers.. I don't think
he's particularly worried that I'm in his
group either. I just wish that we can both
make through to the next round.
Q: Why did you pick Terran?
A: Heh.. terran are humans! They fight to
protect the planet don't they? I saw the
movie Starship troopers and I though they
were a lot like the Terran. Made me feel
better heh.
Q: How is your weight increase program going?
How much do you weigh now?
A: Actually I stopped for a bit since I'm
training for the upcoming individual leagues.
I managed to get my weight up to 63kg, but I
lost another 2. I've grown 2 cms now, I'm
180cm tall ^^
Q: What do you think about posts like "I love
you nada!" on message boards?
A: A little embarassing actually (he's shy
^^)
Q: I went to get my hair done at a shop in
[place] the owner said you go there too, is
it true?
A: Yep, I always go there to get hair cuts.
Q: You have a car don't you? Have you ever
been caught speeding or parking illegally?
A: I got a ticket parking outside the Pantech
house just today. I get caught speeding a
lot.. I have confidence in my control (micro)
so I used to speed up even when I see a
camera. I decided not to let my pride get the
bestof me and slow down from now on ^^
Q: What about the rumors about you changing
teams?
A: I won't switch teams ^^ I've said once a
while ago that I would leave to find
happiness, and I found it.. and found sadness
as well (I guess he's talking about his
father's death). I get this feeling sometimes
that I want to leave to do something
important, but this isn't the time. I guess
that's something to think about once I've
accomplished something here. I have big
dreams and I hope all of you do too, somedays
those dreams will come true. Also.. the
golden mouse is mine! (Golden Mouse is a
special reward fir the first progamer that
will win his 3rd major league, so far Boxer,
Oov, Nada and July all have 2, they are all
fighting for the 3rd)
Q: Any shout out to the fans?
A: I'm back! I'd like to thank you all for
your interest and I'll repay you with a
winning trophy ^^

iloveOov First Person, this game was played
in the Spris MSL, after Oov has already won
the previous two MSL titles and was running
towards the 3rd, in the Korean Starcraft
progaming scene there's always that one
player 'to beat' like if you beat him you've
earned your meal :-) example is sAviOr these
days, and of course Boxer in his prime, same
with JulyZerg for a good year at least, and
at the time when this match was player the
same was with iloveOov, beating him at this
point was considered an act of god :-)
iloveOov won three MSL titles one after the
other, the 11/2003 TG-Sambo MSL, the 04/2004
Cen-Game MSL, and the 08/2004 Spris MSL (and
then the 11/2004 Ever OSL), he remained
ranked #1 in KeSPA after taking it from NaDa,
from August 2004, 8 months untill April 2005
when JulyZerg took it (and remained #1 for 11
months)

When I read that Nal_Ra and July will be
playing at Ro16 I was pissed :/ I hate when
oldschoolers like these two have to face each
other in an elimination round, first Nal_Ra
and BoxeR, now this... And there's no escape
from Ro16, no Loser Brackets to fall on. The
good thing is that you can always expect
great games from these two.
Well as it turns out, there actually is a
sudden chance for one of the 8 losers,
because OverSky is enlisting to the army in 1
month, he has to quit MSL, and since he beat
TT 2-0, one of the 8 losers will have to fill
his spot now. 1/8 however is quite the
longshot. So far TT, Stork and iloveOov, to
that list will be joinning the loser of this
Bo3, and the losers of Sea vs GoRush, XellOs
vs 910 and Hwasin vs Sheis)
Why couldn't July get someone like TT? and rA
get someone like 910? that would have been
perfect :-) I'd then happily see July and rA
facing in Ro8, play a great set and hopefuly
the loser would make it out of LBs... But it
wasn't ment to be, and the draw says either
July or Nal_Ra, one of them is going home,
leaving 1 finger and a quarter hanging in
WildCard group :-)
Nal_Ra is known as a MSL beast, he's made it
into the last 3 MSL semi-finals in a row,
made it to the Pringles MSL Finals (March to
July 2006) where he lost to sAviOr in the
finals. And of course lets not forget
Nal_Ra's picture is hanging right there on
the wall- the MSL hall of fame, Champion of
Stout MSL 2003 where he beat NaDa in the
finals.
JulyZerg on the other hand, is a OSL type of
guy :-) But he has one thing going for him
that no other player has more than him right
now, the hunger! And you may laugh :-) but I
don't mean his hunger for burgers, it is the
hunger for victory that drives him now, more
than ever, or at least needless to say more
than he had since 2005. If you haven't read
about the July MBC Waiver (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aF-i8icXxY ),
well July is now part of SKT1... MBC are
probablly already crying in shame about
dropping July, it was a mistake! They never
thought he'd make it this far in the first
place, they got greedy and tried to
ridicilously cut his payment. But he proved
them so wrong, and SKT1 scorred big time by
taking July under their wings, already
wearing SKT1 uniform in Ro16. This was part
of July's fuel, and thats what he has over
Nal_Ra right now, the fire! Of course Nal_Ra
wants to win, but he can't possibly (with his
overall good record and steady success over a
long period of time) want this more than
July, no, July needs this for a hundred
different reasons.
Ro8 is huge, when you had to face the names
these two had to face to get here, Nal_Ra and
JulyZerg had really tough games! Some players
get lucky groups... simple current example is
910 (had to beat Keke and Go.Go to advance...
I mean please) and now he gets XellOs at
Ro16, could the guy get any more lucky? Well
in every season there are those lucky ones,
but just compare that with July and Ra's and
you'll see, that for July (had iloveOov,
Chalrenge and NaDa in his group) and Nal_Ra
(had BoxeR, Canata and FireBatHero in his
group), for them making it to Ro8 already
says volumes! it says elite! That is what pro
teams look at when they hunt for talent, when
they plan Proleague strategy, when they chose
ace players.
If a player gets to Semi-Finals with the
easiest road possible, that won't even be
remembered next season, but when Nal_Ra or
July get to Ro8 with that kind of record
behind their path, its already burned in our
memories, and next season you'll see (even if
the winner falls at Ro8) people talking in
forums about "Yes but he played very well
last season, impressive games vs x.." etc
etc.
So thats that, enjoy the games :-)
And I personally will be cheering for the
loser of this set, to advance from the
wildcard group.
