owner in England. This is the first airshow
appearance of the "Princess Elizabeth" in the
United States.

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as Don Hinz takes his
P-51C Mustang up for several passes over
Langley AFB. Sadly, Don lost his life in the
summer of 2004, along with the aircraft. The
Mustang is currently undergoing a
re-restoration under the Red Tail Project.

P-51C Mustang "By Request" of the Minnesota
Wing of the Commemorative Air Force at the
1941 Historic Aircraft Group Airshow in
Geneseo, NY, July 2001.
Then, the niece of a Tuskegee Airmen veteran
gets the chance to lifetime with a backseat
ride in "By Request"
This P-51C was lost along with its pilot, on
May 29th, 2004.
Don Hinz, of the Red Tail project was
performing at the 2004 Wings of Freedom
airshow when the aircraft suffered a
catastrophic engine failure. After completing
a high speed pass, the sudden and unexpected
failure of the Y-drive caused the engine to
abruptly and completely stop. Attempting to
execute a forced landing in trees near the
airport, the aircraft was severely damaged
and the pilot fatally injured.
The airframe is currently undergoing a second
reconstruction, and restoration of the
fuselage is nearing completion.

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as Jim Beasley Jr. takes
off in the P-51C Mustang "Princess
Elizabeth". Jim experienced a gear problem
and was unable to fly his performance at
Millville that day, and instead flew home to
get the plane repaired. It was fixed that
night and flown back to Millville on Sunday.

This video is the first of two from the Wings
of Freedom Tour 2008 by the Collings
Foundation World War II Aircraft. Buchanan
Field, Concord California. I had a difficult
time holding the camera steady. This made
the video rather shaky and I trouble keeping
the aircraft centered. I was using a still
camera in a video mode which did not make it
any easier.
