| RayStorm - first stage |
 |
This is a video from the first stage of
RayStorm (aka Layer Section 2), part two of a
3-part shootemup series by Taito.
AFAIK (some of) the people who worked on this
later formed G-Rev and released Border Down
and Under Defeat for Dreamcast, but feel free
to correct me if I'm wrong.
The footage is taken from the relatively
unknown PC version of the game, which was
released by Cyberfront in 2001 (a little
late, considering the original game dated
from 1996).
The PC port is a straight port from the
PlayStation version, up to the point where
even the familiar button-layout from that
console can still be seen in the menu
screens.
What's also stunning is that the game is
running in software mode(!), allthough at
640x480, so the polygons got a slight
upgrade.
Quite outdated for a 2001 release, but at
least the port is solid.
Another thing to note about the PC version
are the very loud SFX, which can clearly be
heard in the video - I like :) Tags : raystorm layer section two pc playstation arcade video game crisis force gunlock taito g-rev |

One of my top favorite games ever
Thought I'd record it since I just got the
game Man I'm rusty. I would never get blown
up on this game till at least Level 4.
Oy.
This is a SHUMPS game. If you don't know what
SHUMPS stands for go look it up. Not as
difficult as many of the other games but
still fun. This one uses Lock-Ons as well as
barrage lasers to destroy enemies. Your bomb
instead of collecting them you build it up as
a special attack. That's about all I know
from this game. I'm no expert at it. Only
beat this game once with a friend.
Anyway R-Gray1 has missle Lock-Ons. I would
reccommend for solos and such. Tags : Raystorm R-Gray1 |
