playplace.
You remember playing on merry go rounds at
the playground.
Before the MySpace frenzy . . .
Before the Internet & text messaging . . .
Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .
Before MIKE JONES . . .
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .
Before Spongebob . . .
Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework
you had every night.
When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was
The new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs.
When we called the radio station to request
songs to hear off of our walkmans.
When gameboy was a brick.
You did MASH to figure out your future
When you weren't cool unless you had a
Starter jacket.
Way back.
Before we realized all this would eventually
disappear.
Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so
much!!!!!
Post this in your profile if you remember
these days . . . .
or if you smiled at one of these things.

| Michal Towber - Juliet's Refrain |
 |
http://www.michalmusic.com/
Michal Towber sings of Romeo and Juliet's
relationship in a way you've never heard
before.
I would rip you all apart to take the pain
you'd feel
And I would kill all my best friends to make
this sweet dream real
I would make all your mistakes to try and
understand
And if I hated who you are, I still would
lick your hands
We're right back here again; I'd kill to be
your friend
And die to kiss your skin, and never kiss
again
Forsake my name for you; I'd rip my soul in
two
And claw off all my skin just to let you in
Give me all your babies' breath and crumpled
paper wings
Give me all your sudden death and other
silent things
Give me all your broken dreams, your broken
heart and home
Give me all your wicked thoughts of breaking
someone's bones
I'd be afraid to touch you; I wouldn't want
to hurt you
And no one's ever held me quite so close as
you are (ahh)
And if you ask me to, I'll do us both for you
And if you hold me tight, I swear I won't be
scared to die
I feel alone (la la la la)
I am alone (la la la la)
I've always been (la la la la)
Ohh
Michal was born Michal Towber on a kibbutz in
Israel. Her family returned to their native
New York when she was a year old. She began
taking classical piano lessons as a child,
but by her high school years had become
interested in popular music. Learning to play
guitar, she began performing in downtown New
York clubs where she came in contact with
various musicians, among them Dave Pirner of
Soul Asylum, whom she took as her date to her
senior prom. After an appearance as part of
the CMJ Music Marathon in 1997, she attracted
label interest and signed to the RPM custom
label of Columbia Records, run by Tony
Bennett's son and manager Danny Bennett. With
that, she delayed plans for college and went
to work on her first album, Sky With Stars,
which was released in June 2000.
Emmy winning (and five time nominated)
composer and songwriter Michal is now on her
third record deal. The first was with RPM, a
label owned by Tony Bennett's son, Danny
Bennett, and the second with Columbia. Signed
to Columbia by famed A&R man Don Devito,
Michal shared the roster with Springsteen,
Billy Joel and Dylan. She has finally found
her home with a credible independent,
Shorebreak.
A classically trained pianist and self-taught
guitar player, Michal writes all her material
and gives a captivating live show. A veteran
of SXSW, CMJ and the New York Anti-Folk Fest,
Michal has also graced the stage at the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame and most of the clubs
in lower Manhattan, since she first began
playing out at the age of 17. A composer for
OLTL on ABC, she has also appeared on the
show and been a feature performer on the
Oxygen Network's morning show and Studio Y.
Her music is included on the Dawson's Creek
album and on Delia's In Your Head Sampler and
Giorgio Armani in-store samplers. She was the
featured face for Urban Decay's Face Case.
Her first record, Sky With Stars, was
critically acclaimed, garnering rave reviews
from, Seventeen, Stuff, Cosmogirl, Twist and
Rollingstone.com, among others. Her song
"Life Without Me" off her sophomore release
Coma appeared in the HBO movie Kiss the Bride
on Feb 14, 2004 and in a COACH campaign. Kiss
the Bride is currently available on video and
DVD.
Her new album "Desireless" is currently
available on I-tunes. She graduated Yale
University Cum Laude, with distinction in her
major and was inducted into the political
science honors society last May. Following
graduation she toured the world with Yale's
all-senior, all-female a cappella group, Whim
n' Rhythm. She is currently attending
Columbia Law School, where she is studying
entertainment law and plans to do pro bono
work for up and coming artists.

Nickelodeon has brought Rocko to the Super
Nintendo with ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE: Spunky's
Dangerous Day. Spunky has gone crazy in
O'Town you know how he always seems to find
trouble and it's up to you to help him
survive his day. You'll have to protect him
at Rock-O-Whey Beach, the Hill-O-Stench
garbage dump, and Laundryland. Along the way,
you'll face all kinds of weird and wacky
enemies, like one-eyed pelicans, Bigheads,
crusty crabs, and tricky lint traps. If you
can guide Spunky through all this
side-scrolling platform action, he'll be
eternally grateful if you could just get him
to calm down and sit still for a minute! Tags : rocko's rockos rocko modern life spunky's dangerous day spunkys spunky super nintendo snes nes video nickelodeon clip |
