Too many harbor strong opinions about Tibet,
yet know nothing more than the few slogans
offered by the mass-media outlets.
The media screams:
"They killed innocent monks!" - but those
"innocent" monks and other young hooligans
killed innocent Chinese before a single shot
was fired on them.
"The Chinese are oppressive" - do you
consider freeing over 95% of Tibetans from
slavery, building a state of the art
infrastructure, and a new economy oppressive?
"The Chinese suppress Tibetan Buddhism" -
then why have the Chinese spent a fortune
restoring ancient monasteries and places of
religious significance?
China doesn't SPIN NEWS like we do. Their
silence is too often mistaken as admission of
guilt. Don't be another uninformed drone.
Do everyone a favor and learn truths before
forming opinions.
Here's to Peace & Harmony! The 2008 Beijing
Olympics deserve support!

The Dalai Lama is condemning what he calls
China's rule of terror. Chinese police are
reported to be going from door to door in the
capital Llhasa, hunting Tibetans involved in
the most serious uprising against Chinese
rule for nearly 20 years. Tibet's self
declared government in exile says 80 people
have been killed. Protests appear to be
spreading outside Tibet as latest reports
from Sichuan in south west China say 3
protesters have been shot dead there. Al
Jazeera's Owen Fay reports

grassland is turning into desert. Shocking

Halong Glaciers in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the
source of China's Yellow River, have shrunk
by 17% during the past 30 years. This could
leave the region without glaciers by the end
of the century and is an alarming sign of
climate impact on the source of China's
mother river- the Yellow River. A documentary
by Greenpeace.

"Protests led by Buddhist monks enter their
third day, in the biggest show of defiance in
Tibet for more than 20 years.
Cars and shops have been set ablaze in the
Tibetan capital Lhasa amid demands for
independence from China.
Reports say Chinese police have fired on
protestors, leaving at least two people dead.
One witness said around 400 demonstrators had
been confronted by a thousand riot police as
they threw rocks and set fire to cars and
buses.
The Dalai Lama has denied Chinese allegations
that he had masterminded the unrest."
