| Bob Woodruff - The 28th Annual News & Documentary Emmys |
 |
On January 29, 2006, Woodruff and Canadian
cameraman Doug Vogt were seriously injured in
an explosion from an improvised explosive
device near Taji, Iraq, about 12 miles (19
km) north of Baghdad. Woodruff and Vogt were
evacuated to the United States Army Medical
Command hospital at Landstuhl, Germany. On
ABC World News Tonight that evening, anchor
Elizabeth Vargas talked about the dangers of
reporting in a combat zone and wished
Woodruff and Vogt well in recovery.
Woodruff's appearance at the 28th Annual News
& Documentary Emmy Awards was his first
engagement before the full broadcast News &
Documentary contingent. Tags : Soledad O'Brien Bob Woodruff Emmys News Documentary Emmy Awards ABC |

| Charlie Rose - Bob Woodruff |
 |
With the Beijing Olympics set to open this
week, China is again at the center of the
news. The economic power's growing influence
around the world is also the subject of a new
documentary "China Inside Out" airing tonight
on ABC. In the piece, Bob Woodruff reports
from Angola, Brazil, Cambodia, and the United
States. Here are excerpts of my conversation
with Woodruff Tuesday night. Tags : China Olympics Charlie Rose |
