| Wii Teach You AFM |
 |
Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is an important
tool for nanotechnology. We tried to use more
interesting and interactive way to
demonstrate how AFM works. We build a hand
held optical lever model (called AFM
education kit) that allows people use this
model to scan a nanostructure model. A
powerful device, WiiTM-mote controller
(NintendoTM) is used in the AFM education
kit. Wiimote combines infrared camera, MEMS
(Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)
acceleration sensors and Bluetooth
connection. The motion of the AFM education
kit is captured by Wiimote. Here two infrared
light sources act as the reference and a
wireless (Bluetooth) connection sends the
signals to a notebook, Tags : wiimote wii remote nitendo afm atomic force microscope microscopy tapping contact cantilever beam deflection |
