This Stop Motion Animation takes you into
another world. In this world no physical laws
count. The only laws that count are the laws
of the Animator.
I animated myself through my house and the
city of Breda, the Netherlands. It took me 6
months to complete. That is mainly because of
the weather. It wasn't always suitable to
shoot my scenes.
The song I used is called Chinois by DJ
Aphrodite and can be found on the record
Aftershock.
Enjoy! I would like to know what you think
about it.

| Love Letters - An Animated Proposal - v2.0 |

I produced this animation as a way of
proposing to my girlfriend (now wife)
Natasha. I assembled a team of 20 animators
to assist me, including co-workers, as well
as students from my 3D character animation
class at the Art Institute of California-San
Francisco. We created more than four minutes
of animation in just three months. When it
was completed, I surprised Natasha by
bringing her to the Parkway Movie Theater in
Oakland, where they played the animation on
the big screen in front of over 100 of our
friends and family. The entire event was
filmed for the TLC television show "A Perfect
Proposal."
Director's Note: I pulled a George Lucas and
retrofitted the opening shot of the animation
to show a photo of the Natasha design from
"The Invitation" rather than the earlier
drawing of Natsha I had done, which I was
never quite satisfied with. Also, after
receiving many a tersely written emails, I
finally decided to listen to the fans and
have completely removed all scenes with Jar
Jar Binks.

A: All animation was done in Maya and edited
together in Adobe After Effects. You can
download a Personal Learning Edition of Maya
free from the Autodesk website.

a dark visual with a perfect work of
narration by James Mason. It is a UPA
Production and was the first cartoon to be
X-rated (adults only) in Great Britain under
the British Board of Film Censors
classification system. Really great - you
have to see it.

The song "Still Alive" is a little past it's
prime today, and in fact I could have had
this up in January, but I'd been trying since
then to get usage permission from Valve
software, with no response at all except some
positive comment from songwriter Jonathan
Coulton (Thanks John!). So - I'll just
recommend that everyone who likes the music
either buy the game Portal, or the music
CD/track downloads from Amazon. Hope you
enjoy the vid.
