A promo video that I made for my watch
sponsor, NFW! I worked ridiculously hard on
this one, learning how to do new manual
effects and stuff and trying to make it my
best editing job thus far.
I composed, wrote, and recorded, mixed, and
performed the music myself. I've been meaning
to grab the mic again after a 4 year hiatus,
and this was the perfect excuse. The song is
called "N.F.W.", and the lyrics are as
follows:
Verse 1: It's been about 4 years since I
ripped a verse
My rhymes disperse to show that wack MCs are
the worst
Dont have to curse, its raw intellect that
I'm bringin'
I'm not blingin', but I'll have ya singin'
and ladies wishin' their phones ringin'
Cuz Im smooth like Rico
I got your hombres runnin and yellin out,
Peligro!!!
Cuz like my brother Sid says, "It's so
dangerous!"
When my rhymes banish rappers to the strange
abyss
These monotonous, repetitive, and lame MCs
Don't hold a candle to my steez, man, I kick
it with ease
I'm not concerned with what you think I am or
who you claim to be
There ain't a mainstream MC that could step
to me
I rip rhymes with ease, spit flows that are
venomous
And hit you with vocabulary, lovin' my
intrepidness
Bringin' truthful messages and show you what
the essence is
Rap today is treacherous, but know my rhymes
are effortless
Hook (x2): You need fearsome wits when you
step in the booth
Never fraudulent writing, I only bring the
truth
Neglect fosters wretchedness, it isn't my
scene
So I never forget what this hip-hop means
Verse 2: They call me MC, mic controller
I'm rollin over these rappers just like a
steamroller
I move your body with my lyrical
telekineticism
Rhyme fiends drawn to me by verbal magnetism
They've been suffering too long, that's what
I try to tell em
So I'm kickin' my rhymes straight to the
cerebellum
Releasing lyric brain waves, soak 'em up by
osmosis
And wack rappers freeze in a state of
hypnosis
My style is the rock of ages, I make all ages
rock
Your quality cant compare to what I see on my
"Blok"
Get it? You wanna battle me, you better be a
great debater
And you'd think I'm Warren G cuz I' a wicked
Regulator
And I'm flowin' over rhythms with the
greatest of ease
Im the daring young man on the lyric trapeze
Fake MCs become mimes when I box 'em in
I'm givin life to my disciples, rhyme oxygen
Hook (x2): You need fearsome wits when you
step in the booth
Never fraudulent writing, I only bring the
truth
Neglect fosters wretchedness, it isn't my
scene
So I never forget what this hip-hop means
Verse 3: I flex lyrical muscles, biceps and
abdominals
My flow passes through ya, from your toes to
your follicles
I read thought patterns, fake MCs are
schizophrenic
But they're poisoning minds with their rap
epidemic!
I bring back the truth and lock down my
sector
They know who I represent when I show em the
Vector
I ascend mentally, receiving lyrical visions
I leave excrement flying like literal stool
pigeons
I put the AutoPilot on, kick rhymes in
slumber
Wrapping tentacles around a clown I drag him
under
To Atlantis, so they never find the wack
ignoramus
Man, its clear to see I rock more sets
(Morissettes) than Alanis
I give listeners a taste just to keep em
enticed
I defy the laws of physics, levitate like
Christ
Refract thoughts into flows with this lyrical
prism
I'm dominating hip-hop with this real
mentalism
Hook (x4): You need fearsome wits when you
step in the booth
Never fraudulent writing, I only bring the
truth
Neglect fosters wretchedness, it isn't my
scene
So I never forget what this hip-hop means

| Baines Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas (feed the world) |
 |
A cover version of "Do They Know It's
Christmas" done for a college project, as a
protest song for an imaginary 'war' in
Kyrgyzstan. The singers and people in this
are acting roles.
I had two thoughts when making this. Firstly,
what if the original video had been made like
a pop video, instead of just recording the
stars singing into a microphone? Here's how
it could have turned out.
Secondly, this was recorded at the same time
as "Band Aid 20", when there were lots of
stories in the press about celebrities
fighting about who should sing certain lines,
arguing over who gets to sing the most, and
fame-hungry celebrities turning up at the
video shoot uninvited.
There seemed to be a lot of 'ego' involved
with Band Aid 20. And then when the video was
released, it featured the Sugababes coated in
lipgloss, Justin Hawkins thrusting his nob
into a guitar, and Joss Stone trying to
outsing everybody. Then right at the end, the
celebs applaud themselves, "Woo, we saved the
world!"
So I put aside any preconceived ideas about
the message of this song video. The video
concentrates on being a pop video, and is
therefore deliberately 'out of touch with the
original message of the song. Tags : band aid baines christmas do they know it's its feed the world |
