Kevin Ferguson (born on February 8, 1974),
better known as Kimbo Slice, is a Miami,
Florida-based street fighter turned mixed

appeared in several filmed underground fights
which have spread primarily on the Internet.
Law enforcement never intervened as the
fights were considered consensual.
Kimbo has since left street fighting behind
and is now putting his efforts towards
becoming a professional mixed martial arts
fighter. Slice is currently training with
retired MMA fighter Bas Rutten.
Ferguson was a star defensive football player
for Miami Palmetto High School in the
Pinecrest area of Miami, Florida. In college,
he went on to the University of Miami on
academic scholarship, but did not play
football. He was there for only a year and a
half.
As Kimbo Slice, Ferguson worked as a
bodyguard for RK Netmedia, a Miami-based
pornography production/promotion company
responsible for a number of popular adult
subscription websites, such as MILF Hunter.
Kimbo still maintains close ties with the
company who now accompanies him, as his fight
entourage before entering the ring. Rolling
Stone called Slice "The King of the Web
Brawlers".

Kimbo Slice began training in Mixed Martial
Arts (MMA) in 2004 under the instruction of
Bas Rutten[1]. Kimbo Slice hired Bas Rutten
to train and prepare for his Sean Gannon
internet super-fight. Ferguson continued to
train MMA with Bas Rutten for both his
professional MMA bouts. Kimbo Slice walked
away victorious from both MMA bouts; the
first being against Ray Mercer, June 23, 2007
and the second against MMA veteran David
"Tank" Abbott, February 16th, 2008.
One of Slice's most notable fights was a
controversial late 2004 encounter with Sean
Gannon, a former Boston Police officer who
trains in MMA.[3] Slice was defeated by
Gannon (with accusations of use of illegal
moves from either side) and, due to the
popularity of the fight video, Gannon began
fighting within the Ultimate Fighting
Championship.
Slice made his sanctioned MMA debut against
former WBO Heavyweight champion boxer Ray
Mercer at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5,
in Atlantic City on June 23, 2007. The match
was scheduled as a three-round exhibition
utilizing all professional rules of MMA
combat. Slice defeated Mercer with a
guillotine choke at 1:12 into the first
round.[4] In a post-fight interview, Slice
stated that he would like to fight David
"Tank" Abbott. Abbott, who was a spectator,
stood up from his seat and accepted the call
out. One of the matchmakers for CFFC asked
Slice for his assurance so that an October
12th bout at Cage Fury Fighting Championships
6 between Slice and "Tank" Abbott could be
organized. This event was later canceled due
to a promotion dispute. On October 11, 2007,
Proelite.com announced that they had signed
Slice to a deal and that he would make his
debut on the November 10 EliteXC.[5]
Originally set to make his professional MMA
debut against Mike Bourke, the reformed
street fighter was set to face Bo Cantrell
after Bourke sustained a shoulder injury.[6]
Kimbo defeated Cantrell 19 seconds into the
first round by submission due to strikes.
Slice will be featured on The Iron Ring, a
new television series airing on BET which
features MMA prospects. Slice will be a part
of the selection process for the
participants.
On February 16th, 2008, Kimbo fought Tank
Abbott in the main event at EliteXC: Street
Certified. He won by KO 43 seconds into the
first round due to strikes. At the fight his
weight was announced at an all-time low of
234lbs, a far cry from his street fighting
days of 280lbs. His next scheduled fight is
May 31, 2008 at the Prudential Center in
Newark, New Jersey on CBS's Saturday Night
Fights. Kimbo will fight James Thompson. It

| MENGI INFLICTS BARBARIC SUFFERING ON ANIMALS |

On 11th May 2006 Veterinary Officers were
called to Silverdale Farm in the Hai District
of the Kilimanjaro Region where Benjamin
Mengi and his wife Millie unlawfully keep a
large herd of cattle, goats and sheep. They
are tresspassing on the farms and refuse to
remove the animals. Their presence there is
an offence of criminal trespass and negligent
damage.
The animals were found to be dying from
malutrition and disease. Zonal veterinary
offer Dr. Swai confirmed that the animals
were in appalling condition and were infected
with Foot & Mouth Disease.
On questioning Mengi's staff Dr. Swai
established that the problem had existed
since January 2006. On asking Mengi's staff
why they had not been reporting the deaths or
attempting to bury the animals, they stated
that Mrs. Mengi had been repeatedly told of
the appalling conditions the animals were in
and they had been given instructions to leave
the animals to die and leave the carcasses to
rot around the farm. The staff stated that
no medications or inoculations had been
supplied to them to administer to the animals
and no attempt was being made to feed them
properly or assist them overcome the disease
or alleviate their suffering.
Dr. Swai reported that premises hygiene was
poor due to bad management. He found the
animals to be ill attended and in bad
condition. No segregation was taking place
and no veterinary care was being administered
to the animals. A quarantine oreder was put
in place immediately.
The Mengi's ignored the quarantine order,
continued to remove milk from the farm for
public sale and put no sanitation methods in
place which placed the surronding aras at
risk of infection. They also continued to
exposeother areas by allowing the animals to
drink from the farm furrows.
The Mengi's made no attempt to treat the
animals which were left to suffer and die.
Mrs. Mengi issued court proceeding against
Mr. Middelton a British investor and Managing
Director of Silverdale Tanzania Ltd, the
company which owns the equitable lease to
Silverdale & Mbono Farms accusing him of
killing the animals and forging the
quarantine order issued by Doctor Swai, her
husband Benjamin Mengi statinto be the owners
of the farms.
It was always open to Mengi to remove the
animals from the farms. No one is forcing her
to keep them there and her presence there
amounts to a criminal offence of criminal
trespass which the oshi police refuse to
address.
British investor Sarah Hermitage, Mr.
Middleton's wife, treated the animals saving
many of their lives. Each day, Ms. Hermitage
sent a report and photographs of the tretment
to Dr. Juma Ngasongwa, Minister of
Investment, Planning & Empowerment as proof
of the treatement.
Ms. Hermitage states, 'I have never seen such
brutal, savage and barbaric, avoidable
suffering inflicted on animals. Whilst I was
breaking my back saving the animals, Mengi
was in court stating my husabnd was killing
them. On one day, I was treating a dying cow
on the farm and Mengi brought a senior police
officer onto the farm stating that we were
stealing the animals. He walked past the
dying cow and ignored it. This was truly,
savage behaviour. These creatures were
innocent and deserved some respect in their
helpless state of ill health. I was not
prepared to let them die. I was not put on
this earth to casue suffering to innocent
creatures'.
Mengi refused to bury the animals in
accordance with the quarntine order leaving
them to rot on the farm. District Veterinary
Officer Kweka refused to administer the order
stating he had been threatened by Mengi. Mr.
Middleton, at his own expense effected
burials under the supervision of district
livestock officers due to Kweka's refusal to
cary out his duties.
The cattle remain on the farm illegally.
These photographs show the appalling
suffering of the animals and the efforts Mr.
Middleton and his wife and staff, made to
safe them and bring the herd back to health.
The video also publishes the fact that Mengi
and Anold Kimaro are lying to the court and
committing perjury by stating to the court
that Mr. Middelton is killing the animals.
A tape recording is published where Kimaro
states quite catagorically, that Mr.
Middelton is not killing the animals and yet
he is acting as Mengis power of attorney in
the case and is thus lying to the court as is
Mengi.
Boma Ngombe police have refused to accept a
criminal complaint of perjury. The head of
C.I.D. Mkochwa, stating, 'better you wait and
see what the outcome of the court case is and
if you win, you can make your complaint'.
The Mengi family and Kimaro are therefore
above the law in Tanzania.
Perjury carries a prison sentance of up to
seven years.

| The Barbaric Practice Of Canned Hunting |

Canned hunting or captive hunting is the
practice of hunting animals which virtually
have no escape, for sport, trophies and
personal gratification.
Canned hunts are conducted on private ranches
or game reserves which are fenced off to
prevent any opportunity of an animal
escaping. These facilities offer their
customers the chance to hunt and kill
confined exotic and native animal species for
a price.
The animals which are used and targeted in
canned hunts are often bred on site or
purchased from animal dealers or perhaps
roadside zoos. Because these animals have
become accustomed to captive living
conditions they are often fully or semi-tame
and display very little fear of humans which
makes them an easy target for hunters to
kill.
Animals targeted in canned hunts can include
animals (some endangered) such as zebra,
deer, gazelle, tigers, goats, sheep, bears,
rhinos and even elephants.
Because the objective of a canned hunt is a
'guaranteed kill' for a trophy so the hosts
can receive their money from their customers,
the hosting parties will often help hunters
to locate animals or bait them into areas
where a hunter is lying in wait and thus has
an opportunity for an easy and guaranteed
kill.
Because hunters are targeting these animals
for trophies, they will often target the
animals non vital areas excluding the head
and chest which leads to slow painful and
agonizing deaths for them.
Many individual hunters and hunting groups
such as Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young and
the Orion Institute all denounce and oppose
canned hunting, calling it unethical and
unsportsmanlike.
While some states have banned the practice,
it is still legal in many parts of the United
States with no federal laws governing canned
hunting and the animal welfare act not
regulating these operations.
As seen in the video the practice is
disgusting, barbaric and very cruel, the
animals have no chance of escape and are
killed for no logical, justifiable or
rational purpose other then to satisfy the
selfish desires of anthropocentric human
beings who wish to exploit animals in the
hollow and selfish pursuit of money and
personal glory.
So please protest this type of animal
cruelty, and support political advocacy to
prevent, shut down and make illegal these
barbaric and unethical operations known as
canned or captive hunts.

Georgian leaders may be blaming Russia for
the conflict raging in South Ossetia, but
former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev
said Thursday "there is no doubt" that
Georgia provoked the clash.
Gorbachev told CNN's Larry King that Russia
moved additional forces into South Ossetia in
response to "devastation" in the South
Ossetia city of Tskhinvali.
"This was the use of sophisticated weapons
against a small town, against a sleeping
people. This was a barbaric assault," said
Gorbachev, the last president of the former
Soviet Union.
But Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili,
who also appeared on CNN's "Larry King Live"
Thursday, said he was "profoundly shocked"
that Mikhail Gorbachev would use a television
appearance "for basically vindicating lies
and deceptions."
Last week, Georgia said it launched an
operation into South Ossetia after a
cease-fire was broken with artillery fire
from Russian separatists that killed 10
people including civilians and peacekeepers.
It accused Russia, which also has
peacekeepers in the region, of backing the
separatists.
Hours later, the Russian news agency Interfax
reported that Russian authorities said 10
Russian peacekeepers had been killed and 30
wounded in an attack by Georgians.
"Western television didn't show what happened
in Tskhinvali," Gorbachev said. "Only now
they're beginning to show some pictures of
the destruction. So this looks to me like it
was a well-prepared project. And with any
outcome, they wanted to put the blame on

He called Georgia's claims that Russia is
attempting to dismantle its democracy "all
