| The Original Live Action Blinky Bill Puppet Show |
 |
This is a clip of what I believe is the first
episode (Hello Stranger, Goodbye Ranger) of
the original Blinky Bill series "The New
Adventures of Blinky Bill". This is NOT the
well known Yoram Gross version but the older,
live action series involving puppets, set in
Bollygum National Park & featuring the
talents of "Hey Dad!" actor Robert Hughes as
Ranger Barry.
Long have I searched the internet for
information regarding this show and up until
recently I have been unable to find anything
about the show! This is despite the fact that
it aired on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting
Corp channel) from 1984 for four seasons with
reruns up until 1991! The ABC don't even have
any information about the show on their
website.
Anyway, this is only a clip from the show.
The start and the end of this episode are not
included but I have another clip from earlier
on in the episode if people are keen to see
it. This should bring back some memories for
those who used to watch, and sadly I don't
have any other episodes on VHS from which to
offer more clips of this great show.
Copyright ABC Australia. If anyone from ABC
would like me to remove this clip just
message me and I will do so (but it would be
a real shame given how great this show was).
Anyway, enjoy! Tags : Blinky Bill Original Puppet Show Kids ABC Australian TV 1980s |

| BLINKY THE CLOWN "Blinky Through the years" |
 |
A Tribute to Denver television Ikon Blinky
the Clown aka Russell Scott. "Blinkys fun
club" was staple television for kiddies
growing up in the Denver area from the early
sixties until 1998. I was on Blinky's show
several times. Russell also played another
character Captain Dooley which aired around
noontime. Prior to the Fun club era Blinky
had a co-host Buckles the clown. It was at
that time I made my first appearance on the
show. Fred and Fae, Noel and Andy, are a
couple other great Denver tv ikons that came
and faded but Blinky held court Monday-Friday
on Denvers KWGN channel 2 for well over 30
years. I don't care much for clowns but
Blinky was a bit more than just that. His
rendition of Happy Birthday which appeared on
every show was always a highlight especially
when you had your name mentioned! So many
great memories!
Sadly out of the 10,000 plus shows only a few
were saved. Russell has had a Antique store
in South Denver for many years where he can
be seen sitting out front, cursing and
occasionally waving to fans. Blinky is a
great memory and this is my tribute to him.
