| Luray Caverns |
 |
Luray Caverns is a large commercial cavern in
Luray, Virginia (USA). It is an underground
cavern system filled with columns, mud flows,
stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, mirrored
pools and many other formations. The cavern
is famous for The Great Stalacpipe Organ,
which is made from solenoid fired strikers
that tap stalactites of specific diameter and
length to produce a tone that has been
compared to that of a xylophone, tuning fork,
or bell.

| Luray Caverns 130th Anniversary fireworks display 2008 |

On Saturday August 9th, 2008 Luray Caverns
celebrated its 130th anniversary. After a day
of music and illuminated tours of the cavern
by candlelight, a spectacular fireworks
display flashed over the property.
Not the greatest quality(digital camera on
video mode) but good enough. At first I
decided against putting music on the video
but after hearing the audio I heard a strong
chorus of inebriated spectators that kinda
ruined the mood. So I put in some String
Quartet Tribute of HIM to cover 90% of the
unnecessary dialogue. If anyone is wondering,
at the beginning I have 2 pics of the
caverns. The first pic is not of 1878, I put
it in to say that what they saw in 1878 is
what you see in 2008. Hope you enjoy.

Please note that this video contains effects
that are not found in the cavern. Just added
some mood :)
The cavern really does not have ambient sound
and in many places the sound in absorbed. The
dripping sounds are also an effect for
production value :) :)
My poor camera kept throwing up messages on
the view screen, it truly was trying to say
"I'm in a CAVE!" It hates being out of the
Trailer Test kitchen and demanded a heavy
head cleaning when it got home....

Caverns of Time, Stratholme Past, in the
upcoming WoW expansion. Recorded on Build
8334.
Note that this was recorded on a private
server. However, all terrain depicted in this
video was created by Blizzard for use in the
expansion. No map data was tampered with in
the making of this video. Because this was
recorded during the alpha stage of testing,
there may be significant changes made during
the beta and final release.
