| How Air Conditioning Work |
 |
Air conditioning has fundamentally changed
how people experience the world. When it's
hot outside, walking into an air-conditioned
house is like walking into another season.
Few pieces of technology have had such a
striking effect on people's daily lives. Find
out how air conditioners keep us cool.

| Solar Air Conditioning |
 |
This video starts with a visual montage of
the sheer number of air conditioners used on
our street in Cairo, Egypt, describing them
as energy parasites that actually increase
the heat of the surrounding air. It then
shows the vacuum tube heat pipe solar
absorption cooling air conditioning system
installed by solar engineer Les Hamasaki at
the Debs Park Audubon Environmental Center in
Los Angeles. Les Hamasaki describes the
10-ton solar chiller and we conclude with a
note about how solar chillers not only
eliminate the need for air conditioners, but
the need for entire power plants. They also
produce hot water and can be used for
sterilizing and desalinating contaminated
water. As we say in the video, solar air
conditioners "USE THE SUN'S LIGHT TO DEFEAT
THE SUN'S HEAT!" Thus, the hotter it gets
outside, the cooler it gets inside! Tags : Solar air conditioner adsorption absorption chiller vaccuum tube heat pipe Audubon Environmental Science Center Debs |

| Noisy Toshiba MMS Air Conditioning Unit |
 |
Don't believe Toshiba's advertising that
their MMS and SMMS units are quiet!....
Toshiba Advertisment:- "As a result of
detailed improvements such as the fan drive
circuit, fan blade design and construction of
the outlet duct our design teams have
successfully reduced outdoor unit noise
levels. These studies have eliminated the
peak noise levels at start up, normally
associated with fixed-speed systems, by using
soft start controls. An optional night
operation/sound deadening control circuit
board is available for reducing noise levels
overnight by limiting the system's maximum
operation. This has resulted in reduced
operating noise levels. The exclusive use of
inverter-driven compressors also
significantly contributes to reducing noise
emissions."
We have an MMS unit which is very, very
noisy.
Mostly the noise comes from the Inverter
unit! We have suggested that the unit is
faulty but Tosbiba advise it is operating
within specifications! We have suggested that
the unit be changed out for an SMMS unit but
Toshiba advise there would be no improvement
in the noise levels!
This battle with Toshiba has been raging
since the day of installation January 2006! Tags : Air Conditioning |

Summer is approaching really fast. It has
been very warm lately where I live so I have
been bringing my workout training outside at
my local park..
Basically, I am going back to the basics and
I am loving the new challenge. Using my own
bodyweight as
the machine to keep me in condition.
This is the Outdoor Bodyweight Conditioning
Workout Routine that I did a few days ago
If you want to follow it, here are the
workout instructions:
1a: Rope Push - 20 reps
1b: Modified Pistol Squat - 15 reps per side
2a: Recline Pull - 15 reps
2b: Jump Squat - 20 reps
3a: Side Pull up - 20 reps
3a: Alternating Split Squat Jump - 20 reps
4a: Bodyweight Shoulder Press - 15 reps
4b: Bulgarian Squat - 15 reps per side
5a: Windshield Wiper - 20 reps
5b: The Flag - 15 seconds per side
All exercises are done in a superset between
upper body and lower body. For example, Rope
Pushup are supersetted with a Modified
Pistol Squat. Do NOT rest within the
superset, but rest 30 seconds after the lower
body before repeating the superset again.
Repeat for a total of 3 rounds total. Proceed
to the next superset (2a and 2b).
Before I go, I just want to remind you that
