| Adele - Hometown Glory (High Contrast Remix) |
 |
WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32z7USfMD1s&fm
t=18
High Contrast Welsh drum and bass producer
remixes Hometown Glory.
As with his reworks of Kanye West's "Gold
Digger", Ils' "No Soul" and the more recent
rework of Utah Saints' "Something Good", High
Contrast proves himself yet again to be one
the best Drum & Bass producers to grace the
scene and probably the best and most creative
remixer in D&B today and in recent years.
Hometown Glory Remix is just another example
of High Contrast's ability to dive into other
music genres and churn out superb D&B
productions from the most unlikely of
sources. The use of Adele's original vocal,
piano loop and synths are re-mastered,
chopped, sliced & diced to a D&B remix
standard that could probably only be achieved
by the man himself.
Absolutely MASSIVE
The film is Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas,
staring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro, its
essentially a true story about the writer
Hunter S. Thompson, you see Depp staring at
him in the beginning - "There I was... Mother
of God, There I am! Holy Fuck!".
Through the use of the drugs such as LSD,
cocaine, mescaline, and cannabis, among
others, they wreck cars, destroy hotel rooms,
and hallucinate with visions of desert
animals.
Find it here and on itunes, so stop asking

| Wil Wheaton praises Sony's 1,000,000/1 Contrast OLED TV's |
 |
OLED = organic light-emitting diode.
This is an amazing new technology that will
enable extremely thin TV's with a contrast
ratio that is about 100 times greater than
the best consumer LCD's or Plasma's on the
market today, thanks to the fact that they
have no backlight. An advantageous side note
of this means they are extremely power
efficient. With tested response times of up
to 0.01ms, which far exceed today's best.
They are much brighter, with more vivid
colors than existing TV's too.
A few issues remain to get this technology to
the mainstream, the big issue being the
organic material used has a relatively short
lifespan. However this issue is being
addressed, and as of recently the 11" version
just hit the world market for real. Though at
$2,499 it is "very expensive", even if it's
technically cheaper to manufacture than any
other TV technologies.
Expect full sized OLED TV's to hit the
mainstream market in 2010, at somewhat
affordable [i.e. not cheap] prices. Expect
30" models to start to appear in 2009.

Google Tech Talks

ABSTRACT
Photographic Technology Day 4
Resolution isn't Everything: Contrast MTF,
Flare, and Noise
Most consumers know that more megapixels is
better. But why does a 6MP DSLR take nicer
pictures than a 10MP point-and-shoot? This
talk will follow light from the surface to
the sensor, exploring some of the things that
degrade images along the way. Credits:
