Someone else posted this originally, but his
account was closed. An ID for the DuMont
Television Network, which operated between
1946-1955. DuMont was the first network home
for Ralph Kramden, and it carried the NFL
from 1951-1955, but was woefully
underfinanced, and done in by regulations and
uncooperative shareholders. The core of the
DuMont network, stations WABD (NYC) and WTTG
(DC) became the core of the Metromedia chain,
which in turn became the core of the Fox
Network. This ID comes after the end of one
