In his remarkable life, Johnny Grant made
approximately 60 trips overseas to entertain
U.S. troops during 6 different wars. By far,
his favorite destination was Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba, a community he fell in love with the
last two years of his amazing life. This
short film has been selected to receive a
Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award at the November
20th, 2008 event at the Music Box Theater in
Hollywood. It was shot by independent film
maker and music artist Joshua Poet and was
aired on the Google Current Television
Network on Veteran's Day in 2007. It features
appearances by Al Bowman, who accompanied
Johnny on this particular trip, along with
Base Commander Mark Leary, MWR Director Craig
Basel and General Jay Hood. This film
captures the only time in United States
history that a Hollywood Star from the Walk
of Fame was ever presented to a military
base.

2004-2005. Here's my simple compilation of
vids and pics of our previous deployment.
GTMO is a non-combat zone. So, don't expect
to see any crazy stuff going on, just a bunch
of us infantry soldiers stuck on an island. I
spent time with alot of great friends during
this mission. All the night vision segments
were some of D. Co's high speed training...
some Reflexive Fire exersizes, and tons of
pics of us in GTMO. Alot of credit goes to
SPC E who made some of the segments. I'm not
sure if I can mention names of my buddies in
the vid, but they know who they are. We're
the last infantry unit to patrol the peaceful
barrened coast. This video was created in
2004.
I would like to disclaim anything that would
negatively include the US Army, and the Army
National Guard of NJ, and that this video was
created for the sole purpose of entertainment
and leisure only. This video is not created
for any pro or anti military purpose.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT MADE TO ACT AS SOME FORM OF
PROPOGANDA, but made only to share with
friends and family from this unit.
There are some videos taken from other videos
such as the aerial view of UH-60 taking out
enemy threat, the insurgent taken down by
Marines, and aerial view of a missle
explosion. Some pics were taken from Time
magazine.
