This is a short animation into the world of
HappySlip videos.
Originally, this was going to be an entry
into HappySlip's Exposed Contest, but I knew
I could never do all that I wanted to do
within the short amount of time given.
Still, I wish the best of luck to everyone
who poured their hearts out to do their own
video. This is ME pouring my heart out for
mine.
It took well over a month to complete these 2
minutes and 15 seconds. Still, I enjoyed the
process and am happy with the end result.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q. What is a half-slip?
A. It's a a woman's skirtlike undergarment,
usually of a straight or slightly flared
shape and having a narrow elasticized
waistband.
Q. What is a "Happyslip."
A. It's actually the word "half-slip" said
with a Filipino accent... "hap e-slip." And
if you don't know WHO is HappySlip, then you
probably wouldn't understand this video much.

Q. How did you do that?
A. The models were created in Maya. Editing,
effects and compositing of Christine's
characters were done in Adobe After Effects.
The end theme music was created using MTV's
Music Generator.

of the composited shots came from.

by Chris Newcombe. Havoc was created for the
Havoc EVE community in an effort to boost
recruitment. It took roughly two weeks to put
together, which involves the scripting and
filming in addition to a lengthy post
production process. The aim was to produce
something as cinematic as possible, giving
the impression it was shot using a camera as
opposed to FRAPs. During the process, Sarah
Murray was brought in to provide the voice of
the stricken pilot, adding a sense of
humanity to the piece. Later, upon locking
the cut, Anil Kamath composed an original
score for the project in addition to
providing a sound mix with effects. The
result is a rather dark outing for the genre,
and it has been nominated for three awards at
this years Machinima FilmFest.

Havoc was a British documentary made for TV I
think in the late 1970's. It is quite tacky
in a lot of ways, the main sticking point
being the obviously dubbed sound effects on a
lot of the old footage.
It starts out with a few old clips from the
earliest races on record in Europe and the
USA, progressing into some of the dangers.
It then talks at some length about the 1955
Le Mans disaster, with some nonchalant
remarks from British driver Lance Macklin.
Also shows the fatal accidents involving
Lorenzo Bandini (Monaco 1967) and Roger
Williamson (Zandvoort 1973).
