Astor Piazzolla
live performance

comments:
While they have similar elements I don't
think the author of this video was trying to
imitate/copy Greg Patillo. They are different
because of their styles to the way that they
play, one sounds more refined, and the other
sounds a bit more, for lack of a better,
harsh. I like this video because it's a great
piece to perform, as well as all the little
things that the author does in the video. I
think it's unique, and regardless of
electronic assistance it's still very
entertaining.

most people don't understand what is
happening here. yes, he is playing over loops
of himself, but we see him record every loop
and then play it back. the entire thing is a
live performance, with nothing sampled from
beforehand, he simply uses the machine there
to play more than one part despite being one
person. every time he presses a button, he is
either recording a new part, playing back a
recording, or both. really, it's awesome.
