Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, (born December
17, 1978), simply known as Manny Pacquiao or
Pac-Man, is a Filipino professional boxer. He
is currently the WBC Lightweight Champion and
the WBC Super Featherweight Champion, the
former world champion at IBF Super
Bantamweight, and WBC Flyweight divisions.
Manny Pacquiao is the first Asian and
Filipino to get four world tiltles. Pacquiao
took over as the Ring Magazine pound for
pound number one ranked boxer in the world on
June 9, 2008, after Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
announced his retirement from boxing.
On June 28, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Resort
& Casino in Las Vegas, Pacquiao defeated
David Diaz by ninth round knockout to become
the WBC lightweight champion. With the
victory, Pacquiao became the only Asian boxer
to win four major titles in four weight
classes and also became the first Filipino
fighter to ever win a world title at
