| Port Militarization Resistance -- Peppersprayed in Olympia |
 |
The Port of Olympia Statement:
"We oppose Olympia's complicity in a war
whose disastrous effects have been felt
worldwide and we will actively resist the use
of Olympia's port to further that war....
Through nonviolent actions we intend to stop
the Port of Olympia from becoming a revolving
door of military machinery furthering illegal
war. This war has taken the lives of 3,845 US
soldiers, over one million Iraqis, and has
displaced millions more. These weapons are
returning to be repaired and refitted for
further combat. We see this as a continuation
of the war despite our nation's and the Iraqi
people's overwhelming opposition to the war." Tags : olympia protest pmr port militarization resistance tacoma sds police brutality iraq war |

TASERS - Militarization of Police and Officer
"Friendly"
WARNING: Tasers are being purchased and
deployed to "authorities" by the thousands.
WARNING: Tasers are being purchased and
deployed to "authorities" by the thousands.
THE MILITARIZATION of OFFICER FRIENDLY in
PREPARATION for DECLARING MARTIAL LAW on US
CITIZENS.
A TASER is a terrorist instrument of social
control designed to intimidate the masses by
punishing one individual in a public forum.
TASERS have failed to replace firearms as
lethal force but instead, have been added to
the arsenal of "preemptive" weapons to "KILL"
your First Amendment rights through a
national campaign of intimidation.
TASERS are a license for the practice of
legalized SADISM by bad cops who can shoot
you with a jolt of excrutiating electronic
pain with impunity.
The presence of "police" in a public forum
has come to mean that you risk consequences
of extreme pain, arrest, humiliation and a
threat of death if you are otherwise inclined
to speak truth to power.
Immoral and illegal practices at Iraq's Abu
Ghraib prison mirror our corrupted federal
government's civilian agenda for the
incremental and insidious Orwellian
intimidation of citizens to would "dare" to
excersize Constitutional First Amendment
rights on US soil.
In sharp contrast to the UPD TASERING
incident, police are not even allowed to be
on a school campus in the UK and elsewhere in
Europe.
TASERS show potential for police brutality on
a massive scale.
TASERS have become little more than public
pornography resulting in a creeping
degradation of the human spirit.
The medical consequences of ndividuals
susceptible to mental trauma and PTSD at
witnessing a friend or peer group member
screaming and writhing in extreme pain have
been completely ignored in a rush to deploy
more and more TASERS -- particularly when the
punishment by TASER is inflicted on a person
who is perceived by the public to have
COMMITED NO CRIME.
The TASER is a de-humanizing weapon of social
control. Demand that TASERS be removed from
college campuses and police depertments while
you still can. The indiscriminate use of
TASERS and recent legislation is your warning
that the government plans to declare MARTAL
LAW for any reason they choose. Tags : TASER Hsaive Alachua UF University of Florida Big Brother Orwellian Andrew Meyer |

Police use force to remove protesters
blocking Stryker convoys
November 8, 2007
OLYMPIA — Members of Olympia Port
Militarization Resistance (OlyPMR) blocked
several convoys of military combat vehicles
called Strykers beginning late last night and
continuing into the morning. Dozens of
protesters blocked the road with their bodies
as one convoy after another exited the Port
of Olympia. In each case, the convoys
eventually passed after police shoved and
struck protesters with batons and dragged
them from the road in order to clear the way.
The demonstration began at 9:00PM when about
100 people gathered outside the port entrance
chanting anti-war slogans. Large numbers of
police in full riot gear marched onto the
scene around 11:15PM.
At 2:30AM police doused a cluster of about 20
people with pepper spray in order to grab one
man in their midst; Shyam Khanna was arrested
and charged with pedestrian interference and
resisting arrest. John Stiner was arrested
earlier and charged with pedestrian
interference. No other arrests were made.
Protesters said that police force was
consistently excessive. Several people
reported minor injuries, including Emiliano
Guevara whose lip was split open and received
other facial injuries when he was hit with a
baton.
On Monday, the USNS Brittin arrived at the
Port of Olympia, with a return shipment of
the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division
Stryker Combat Team. In May of 2006, OlyPMR
attempted to block the outgoing shipment of
this very same brigade; 37 people were
arrested over a period of 10 days.
The soldiers of the 3rd Brigade returned to
Fort Lewis about 2 weeks ago, minus the 48
who died from injuries sustained in Iraq.
When members of OlyPMR learned late last week
of the incoming shipment, they released the
following statement:
"We oppose Olympia's complicity in a war
whose disastrous effects have been felt
worldwide and we will actively resist the use
of Olympia's port to further that war.
... Through nonviolent actions we intend to
stop the Port of Olympia from becoming a
revolving door of military machinery
furthering illegal war. This war has taken
the lives of 3,845 U.S. soldiers, over one
million Iraqis, and has displaced millions
more. These weapons are returning to be
repaired and refitted for further combat. We
see this as a continuation of the war despite
our nation's and the Iraqi people's
overwhelming opposition to the war."
OlyPMR has declared an intent to "contain"
the equipment at the Port of Olympia so that
it may no longer be used for illegal and
immoral U.S. imperial pursuits.

| CANADA : NORTH AMERICAN UNION MILITARIZATION |
 |
http://www.infowars.com/?p=2487
(THIS IS REAL, NO HOCKEY INVOLVED HERE)
Militarization is needed to ensure the goal
of privatizing natural resources, as is
evident around the world. In this case the
primary targets are Mexico's nationalized oil
sector and tar sands production in Alberta.
The tar sands ("oil sands") are one of the
world's largest petroleum resource basins.
As it quietly turns into official policy, the
"Security and Prosperity Partnership of North
America" (SPP) agreement mixes the
neoliberalism of NAFTA with the repression of
homeland security. Harsha Walia and Cynthia
Oka outline the main features of this
emerging framework and its consequences for
people in the region.
The SPP was founded in March 2005 at a summit
of the heads of state of Canada, the US, and
Mexico with the backing of powerful lobby
groups including the US Council on Foreign
Relations (CFR), the Canadian Council of
Chief Executives (CCCE), and the Mexican
Council on Foreign Relations. Robert Pastor,
co-chairman of the CFR, wrote an influential
book in 2001, Toward a North American
Community, where he laid the foundations for
the SPP through the idea of "North American
institutions." In January 2003, CCCE released
its North American Security and Prosperity
Initiative which essentially became the
template for the SPP.
The SPP calls for maximization of North
American economic competitiveness in the face
of growing exports from India and China;
expedited means of resource (oil, natural
gas, water, forest products) extraction;
secure borders against "organized crime,
international terrorism, and illegal
migration"; standardized regulatory regimes
for health, food safety, and the environment;
integrated energy supply through a
comprehensive resource security pact
(primarily about ensuring that the US
receives guaranteed flows of the oil in light
of "Middle East insecurity and hostile Latin
American regimes"); and coordination amongst
defense forces.
Unlike other continental free trade
agreements, the SPP is not an official
treaty. Rather, it is presented as a vague
"dialogue based on shared values." Made
operational through nineteen working groups
that are outside the legislative process, the
SPP has escaped any public debate.
The North American Competitiveness Council
(NACC) is the only formal advisory board to
the SPP and is made up exclusively of
corporate CEOs. A September 13, 2006 story in
Maclean's magazine describes the NACC as a
"cherrypicked group of executives who [are
being] asked to come up with a plan for
taking North American integration beyond
NAFTA." Members include the CEOs of Manulife
Financial, Suncor Energy, Home Depot,
Lockheed Martin, General Electric, and
Wal-Mart. The NACC, representing private
corporate interests, has been
"institutionalized" as a policy-making body,
thus formalizing the patterns of existing
corporate influence. Tags : new world order north american union treason stayner nau harper bush war crimes |
