| Funny Presentation Training - how many errors can you find? |
 |
This is a video produced by a presentation
training company as an example of how NOT to
make a Powerpoint presentation.
Have you sat through terrible presentations
at the office? Post a comment about this
video as well as the painful meetings you've
endured and we'll try to produce a clip on
that topic. If you think your staff needs
presentation training, check the link at the
end of the video.
Here's a list of the errors our presenter
makes you can watch for:
Clothing (tie, jeans, shirt untucked)
Supplies crash to floor
Strange microphone "test"
Throwing pencils?
Poor content
Bad slide preparation
Singing?!
Table crash

| An anthropological introduction to YouTube |
 |
presented at the Library of Congress, June
23rd 2008. This was tons of fun to present. I
decided to forgo the PowerPoint and instead
worked with students to prepare over 40
minutes of video for the 55 minute
presentation. This is the result.

| 3D Medical Animation: Childbirth Stations of Presentation |
 |
This time-lapse 3D medical animation shows
the stations of presentation
during labor (labour) and childbirth. The
animation follows the baby's
progress through the mother's birth canal,
marking the baby's position
by how her head lines up with specific points
in the mother's bony
pelvis. These points are called vertex
positions, and use the
designations +3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2 -3 in what
obstetricians (OB/GYNs)
call the 1/3 system.

Presentation designer and internationally
acclaimed communications expert Garr
Reynolds, creator of the most popular Web
site on presentation design and delivery on
the net -- presentationzen.com -- shares his
experience in a provocative mix of
illumination, inspiration, education, and
guidance that will change the way you think
about making presentations with PowerPoint or
Keynote.
Presentation Zen challenges the conventional
wisdom of making "slide presentations" in
today's world and encourages you to think
differently and more creatively about the
preparation, design, and delivery of your
presentations. Garr shares lessons and
perspectives that draw upon practical advice
from the fields of communication and
business. Combining solid principles of
design with the tenets of Zen simplicity,
this book will help you along the path to
simpler, more effective presentations.
