Puppet theatre has a very long history in
India. In some forms it has died out, in
others it has been revived. Thanks to a
cultural exchange sponsored by Pro-Helvetia,
puppeteer Varun Narain was able to spend
three months in Bern preparing a puppet show

Prise d'otage en territoire Suisse, le
Département Fédéral de la Zoologie Civique
décrète une alerte nationale de niveau III
et déploie un état d'urgence immédiat sur
tout le territoire confédéral:
Un commando armé d'arguments détient depuis
le 13 avril dernier les 51 noms de domaines
internet des principaux représentants du
parti de droite dure helvétique de l'union
démocratique du centre (UDC). Le groupuscule
est décidé, il a déjà métamorphosé
l'image des 51 politiciens en âne blanc. Ce
commando revendique par ailleurs une rançon
culturelle de CHF 0,000017 millions de francs
par inscription internet, Ã verser d'ici le
21 juin minuit à la Fondation suisse pour la
culture Pro-Helvetia. Herr Dr. Prof. Studer,
le chef apolitique mais apicole du mouvement
révolutionnaire menace de transformer
définitivement l'image des politiciens en
"moutons noirs", s'ils ne s'exécutent  pas
dans les temps. Pour ce faire, le Her Dr.
Prof Studer a dressé la totalité du parc
animalier d'abeilles tueuses d'ânes blancs
issus de l'emblème communal de sa ville
natale : La Chaux-de-Fonds (Suisse). 

La Confédération déploie une
alerte-ménagerie de niveau IV, et ouvre en
urgence ses principaux enclos médiatiques Ã

Hostage situation in the Swiss Territory, the
Federal Department of civil Zoology has
decreed
a national alert of level III and is
deploying an emergency state on all the
confederated Territory:
Since last 13th of April, a commando armed
with arguments is holding the 51 Internet
Domain Names of the principal representatives
of the right wing Swiss party of the Centre
Democratic Union (UDC). The small group is
decided; it has already metamorphosed the 51
politicians' images into white asses. This
commando is moreover claiming a cultural
ransom of 0,000017 millions Swiss Francs per
Internet subscriptions, to be deposited until
the 21st of June midnight to the Swiss
Cultural Foundation Pro Helvetia. The
apolitical but beekeeping chief of the
Revolutionary Movement, Herr Dr. Prof. Studer
is threatening to transform definitely the
politicians' image intro black sheep if they
do not comply in time. To this mean, the Herr
Dr. Prof. Studer has domesticated in a
salacious way the entire beekeeping park of
white asses' killing bees stemming from his
birth town communal emblem: La
Chaux-de-Fonds.
The Confederation is deploying a menagerie
emergency state of level IV and is opening
urgently its principal foreign enclosures.

BARBARA STREIFF
Primal geometry - ten symbols found in nature
- has been a spiritual awakening and an
unending source of inspiration for the
artist. Empowered by the symbolic energy in
primal geometry, Barbara Streiff's work
reflects all cultures, all religions, and all
time.
Born on 1 August 1955 in Lucerne - the heart
of Switzerland -- Barbara Streiff spent her
childhood in the Swiss Alps in the Linth
Valley of Glarus. From her first contact with
art at age seven, she began learning
traditional art techniques from her family
and older artists.
Later she studied art at l' École des
Beaux-Arts in Paris, the School of Art and
Design Zurich, and the Centre of Cultural
Heritage in Cyprus, where she also taught.
Travels relating to her work and exhibitions
have taken her throughout Europe and the
world -- from Asia to the Arabic states, from
California to Africa, and most recently from
Cyprus to Brazil.
Barbara Streiff's primal geometry art not
only reflects the profound meld of nature and
human cultures worldwide, but each piece also
symbolizes her own personal passion:
To further the evolution and transformation
of traditional art
into innovative and modern forms
by communicating with artists all over the
world
without forgetting the forests of the Swiss
Alps.
