| Eucharistic Procession at UNL |
 |
This is a Eucharistic Procession held on
November 1, 2006 (All Saints Day) on the
campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The procession was organized by the St.
Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church | Newman
Center.
The Eucharistic procession is a centuries-old
tradition in the Catholic Church. Ever since
Jesus instituted the Eucharist at the Last
Supper, His Church has consistently taught
that Christ is truly and physically
present--Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity--in
the Blessed Sacrament. And so, fittingly, the
Eucharistic procession is a form of adoration
and evangelization as Christ is presented
physically for all to witness as we accompany
him. The Eucharist is the greatest treasure
of the Church and so the Church wishes to
bring this good news to all, just as the
Angel brought the good news of Christ's birth
to the shepherds: "Do not be afraid; for
behold, I proclaim to you good news of great
joy that will be for all the people!" (Luke
2:10)
"Do not be afraid to go out on the streets
and into public places, like the first
apostles who preached Christ and the good
news of salvation in the squares of
cities..." - Pope John Paul II

| Erik Hite Funeral Procession |
 |
This is the funeral procession for officer
Erik Hite, June 10, 2008. The day was hot,
106 degrees, but we still stood there in
honor of a fallen veteran and police officer.
It was an honor to stand for him, and I will
always remember this day. The procession was
almost 11 miles long. I only got 10 minutes
of footage before my camera overheated and
shut off. I got about a 1/4 of the
procession. The American Flags in the
background are being held by the Patriot
Guard Riders (PGR), myself and several TMR
members are also Patriot Guards. I want to
thank Maestro, TJ and Tar for being there
with me. 160 motorcycle officers in front.
God Bless Officer Hite, rest in peace.

| Richard Wagner - Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral (from Lohengrin) |
 |
Montage - Recently, I was revisiting some
instrumental sheet music I had the privilege
of playing in high school - Elsa's Procession
to the Cathedral was one of them.
As I got listening to it again, it came to me
that the perfect images to grace a montage is
actually one of Wagner's contemporaries,
William Bouguereau. (Both from the Romantic
era.)
A perfect 'marriage' of sound and artistry -
well, at least I thought so :)
The only other Bouguereau montages I see on
youtube use music like bach, which doesn't
make sense to me - wrong time period. eh. Tags : Bouguereau Wagner Lohengrin Elsas Procession Romantic Era |
