SAMDECH Euv Sihanouk, who has a real iron
heart, has terribly changed Cambodia's faces,
which he's not afraid to be blamed for what
he did in the past with Yak Cong/Yak Minh.
Norodom Sihanouk continues to be one of the
most controversial figures in Southeast
Asia's turbulent, and often tragic, postwar
history. Admirers view him as one of the
country's great patriots, whose insistence on
strict neutrality kept Cambodia out of the
maelstrom of war and out of the revolution in
neighboring Vietnam for more than fifteen
years. Sihanouk was all of these
things--patriot, neutralist, embodiment of
the nation's destiny, eccentric, rigid
defender of the status quo, and promoter of
the worst sort of patron-client politics.
Samdech Euv Sihanouk made terribly mistakes
in his foreign policy by letting all Vietcong
use Cambodia as their bases against American
imperialists and its lackeys of South
Vietnam, who started enjoying dropping bombs
on Cambodia freely as they liked. American
imperialists like French colonialists only
listened with their one ear to Yuon
Leaders....and this is the worst foreign
policy he really made awfully mistakes with
Yuon Vietminh and Vietcong.
Sihanouk knew he could not force 60,000
Vietcong or more out of his tiny Cambodia
(According to Angkor Borei, about 200,000
Yuon Vietcong being armed from heads to their
toes.) He's real in a big trouble with his
bad foreign policy with Vietcong and Yuon
leaders who always had different aims from
his so he secretly told his Prime Minister
Lon Nol to stage a coup overthrowing his
Sangkum Reastre Niyum out of power. Tags : Sihanouk Cambodia Kampuchea Khmer Rouge Vietcong |

 |
A musical to our controversial last God King
MH King-Father Norodom Sihanouk.
Without Chinese secret and careful
protection, Sihanouk would not have survived
so far so good who would have brutally been
killed by the Khmer Rouges who were pro-Hanoi
for sure. If he was captured alive, he would
be a puppet king like Laotian leaders, and
there would be no Paris Peace Agreement and
UN Peace-keeping forces being sent to monitor
and supervise "Fair and Free election" being
held in 1993 at all. Because once Samdech Euv
Sihanouk became a puppet king who would be
told what to do on the drastic orders of Yuon
Dracula leaders in Hanoi. No such harmony was
possible in Cambodia. Just look at Khmer Krom
people who are completely under control of
Yuon Vietcong! Yuon Dracula leaders who still
had had a wild-day dream that their dirty
plan would succeed in kidnapping Samdech Euv
Sihanouk and his royal families who were
still staying in Phnom Penh Royal Palace. A
dirty trick of Yuon Dracula leaders are
against the most-genius and risky trick of
Samdech Euv Sihanouk who already set up a
trap for Yuon Special Commando Unit, who
risked their lives to kidnap him and his
royal families, whose wild-day dream of
creating Indochinese Communist Party, and
those who, risked their lives to kidnap
Samdech Euv Sihanouk, were intercepted and
killed by Chinese soldiers and North Korean
Bodyguards:
In the same month as his visit to Kompong
Som, the Phnom Penh authorities told Sihanouk
that he and his household were to be moved to
a new location, distant from the palace. He
was surprised but acquiescent and then
pleased, for the new quarters were more
agreeable than then by now run-down rooms
they had occupied since the beginning of
1976. When he asked Khieu Samphan for his
household goods to be moved to his new
residence, his request was readily compiled
with. He did not know it, but the reasons for
his change of residence went that beyond
Khmer Rouge readiness to treat him better as
relations with Vietnam soured further. By
September 1978 the leadership in Phnom Penh
was undoubtedly aware of Vietnamese plans to
back a new, protege front that could
eventually be installed in its place. If
Sihanouk could be snatched from Khmer Rouge
control, he would be a rich prize and might
be persuaded to head the new, anti-Khmer
Rouge front. Unlike many of their other
views, this concern of Pol Pot and his
associates was not woven from fantasy, for
towards the end of December 1978 just such an
attempt was made by a Vietnamese commando
unit. The commandos were intercepted by
Cambodian soldiers and killed. Hard on the
heels of Ieng Sary's gift of delicacies, the
prince received a visit from Khieu Samphan,
who came to his residence to invite him to
dinner. On 28 September, Sihanouk and Monique
dined at the former residence of the French
high commissioner in Cambodia, a building
that had been used during his time in power
as a setting for state occasions. Having
endured a long monologue from Ieng Sary on
the theme of the invincibility of the
democratic Kampuchea. Sihanouk learned that
the event had been staged so the Chinese
government to suggest that the prince still
played a central role in his county could use
photographs taken of him and Monique.
On 2 January 1979 a team of Dac Cong Special
Forces was parachuted into Cambodia for a
highly politically important operation: they
were ordered to liberate Prince Sihanouk from
the hands of the Khmer Rouge and to try to
convince him to join a coalition government
led by the Vietnamese. The raiders crossed
the Tonle Sap River by rubber boat but was
detected by the Khmer and all by one of
participating troops were killed by the
Khmer. After this failed attempt, the Khmer
Rouge decided to release Sihanouk, and this
was done on 6 January 1979: he boarded one of
the five Chinese CAAC airlines Boeing 707
used for an air bridge set up by Beijing.
Despite the VPAF airstrikes, these CAAC
airliners continued to fly shuttle flights,
bringing ammunition and weapons and
evacuating key Khmer personnel. Sihanouk
agreed to go to Beijing and then to New York
to the United Nations to defend the cause of
Cambodia. The next day, the VPAF helicopters
had inserted Special Forces teams inside
Phnom Penh to occupy key positions inside the
abandoned city while furious combat took
place in the suburbs. Pol Pot and other
members of the Khmer Rouge Politburo then
boarded five UH-1Hs -- for what was probably
the last AFKLA mission -- to flee Phnom Penh.
They flew to Pursat for a night pause. By the
evening of 7 January the Vietnamese armour
entered Phnom Penh.

In 1966, Sihanouk for the first time allowed
an open slate of candidates from his party
for election to the Assembly. A right-wing
legislature was returned, and it chose Lon
Nol as the new Prime Minster, whereupon
Sihanouk formed a "counter-government" of the
left-it included Hou Yuon, Hu Nim and Khieu
Samphan. Next year the peasants revolted in
Battambang province, an event that since been
seen as a turning point of the Cambodian
revolution.
In Phnom Penh, Sihanouk accused Khieu
Samphan, Hu Nim, Hou Yuon and other leftists
of having inspired the uprising. Fearful of
this revenge, they separately joined their
comrades who had fled in 1963.
It was these three the American embassy
called the "Three Ghosts" when their names
appeared in the ranks of the government in
exile that Sihanouk formed in 1970 after his
overthrow.
The Communists executed several village
chiefs. Sihanouk pursued them relentlessly.
He broadcasts continuos tirades against "les
Khmer Rouge", and his army and police
attacked them ferociously. Khmer Rouge
prisoners often had their stomachs slit and
were then hung in trees to die slowly; others
were flung into ravines.
By the end of April 1967, Khieu Samphan and
Hou Youn, fearing with good reason for their
lives, had slipped away into the marquis.
Singling out Khieu Samphan, Hou Youn and Hu
Nim as his targets, he threatened that red
Khmers would be treated in the same way as
right-wing Khmer Seri rebels. Emphasizing
this point, the three of the latter executed
and once again had their executions filmed
for public showing.
In a recent editorial in the Wall Street
Journal opposing the U.S. State Department's
half-million dollar grant to Yale University
for the creation of database on Khmer Rouge
crimes to be headed by Ben Kiernan, Stephen
Morris writes, "Mr. Kiernan wrote that `Khieu
Sampan's personality—particularly his
assuming manner, ready smile and simple
habits—endeared him to Khmer peasants.
Himself a peasant by birth, he is said to
have been somewhat ascetic in his behavior,
but never fanatical and always calm." Tags : Sihanouk Pol Pot Lon Nol Khmer Rouge Kampuchea Vietcong |

regime. During his time Sihanouk had to face
the quadruple murderous Imperialists, who's
trying to use Cambodia as their battle
ground. A heroic King who dare to challenge
the Vietnamese conquest.
Under the government of Prince Norodom
Sihanouk, who had once ruled as king but had
stepped down from his throne to assume the
post of Prime Minister, Cambodia presented to
the world a picture of peaceful prosperity,
with Phnom Penh as the symbol of commerce and
culture.
In 1963 the prince announced the
nationalization of banking, foreign trade,
and insurance as a means of reducing foreign
control of the economy. In 1964 a state
trading company, the National Export-Import
Corporation, was established to handle
foreign commerce. The declared purposes of
nationalization were to give Khmer nationals,
rather than Chinese or Vietnamese, a greater
role in the nation's trade, to eliminate
middlemen and to conserve foreign exchange
through the limiting of unnecessary luxury
imports. Tags : Sihanouk Sangkum Reastre Niyum Kampuchea |

laissant toute l'utilisation Vietcong

| Cambodia : WHY DID SIHANOUK BRAND YUON AS "CROCODILES" [KH] |
 |
THE former French Colonialists and the former
American imperialists and Chinese Communists,
who are so intelligent people on earth, but
are still disgracefully and bitterly conned,
defeated and betrayed by Yuon
crocodile-leaders. What about the brainless
Cambodians? Cambodian ancestors always made
up a phrase to warn their Khmer children
beware of Yuon: "If you can catch a live
tiger with your own hands, you can make
friend with Yuon." This phrase, perhaps, was
made up after King Chey Chettha II who was
cheated and betrayed by his tricky Yuon wife.
No one knows exactly about Ho's promising to
Prince Sihanouk, "If Your Majesty helps me to
fight against the American Imperialist and
their reactionaries. I'll cede Khmer Krom
back to you when the war is over." According
to Yiey Tien's four books, in Vietnamese "Kim
Thi Hui", who was Khmer Krom born, was a
Chairwoman of Khmer-Vietminh, ran away
leaving her father behind in Kampuchea Krom
was brutally beheaded by Vietminh and
Vietcong to warn other Khmer Krom people not
to follow Tien's example. Because Yiey Tien
knows all about Vietnamese poison tricks and
dirty plans of pogrom against her fellow
Khmers. She speaks three Languages-Khmer,
Yuon and French.
During Vietnam War as we already know very
well, Vietcong tactfully used Prince Norodom
Sihanouk's name to con all Khmer Krom people
including Buddhist monks to serve them
fighting for Prince Norodom Sihanouk against
American imperialists. Vietcong went right
far beyond by using Cambodian flag with
Prince Sihanouk's name everywhere in Khmer
Krom that they are fighting to get all the
lands back for Prince Sihanouk. Many
super-illiterate-ignorant Khmer Krom peasants
were so happy to hear that so they supported
Vietcong to fight against American
imperialists.
Like Lon Nol camp and Khmer Rouge objected to
my trust in the oral promises and written
assurances the Democratic Republic of Vietnam
and the Vietcong had made to Kampuchea during
the 1960s and after Lon Nol's coup as well.
In their view, the Vietnamese had every fault
in the book. Khmer Rouge and Lon Nol's
supporters are fond of saying the Vietnamese
are "bigger ingrates than crocodiles." To the
Khmers the crocodiles are the symbol of
ingratitude. The folk story goes that a Khmer
peasant saved a baby crocodile from dying.
Despite his poverty, the good fellow then
went to great trouble to feed the little
creature well. Soon it grew big and strong.
One day the crocodile, tired of the same sort
of food every day, pushed asides his serving
of rabbit or monkey and unceremoniously
gulped down his benefactor.
But when the war, which known to the world as
"Vietnam War" was completely over in 1975. Ho
knew before he died, that the war was going
to win over the powerful American
imperialists but no brain in jungle war. He
had poisoned himself to his death in 1969 to
seal off his loyalty promises to Sdec
Sihanouk.
Yuon crocodile leaders who wrongly thought
Samdech Euv Sihanouk is no longer use in
negotiation is to bring peace and stability
into Cambodia because their super dirty
demonic plans haven't achieved in eliminating
Cambodian race and religion yet. So they kept
delaying peaceful negotiation with Samdech
Euv Sihanouk since 1979. Even Samdech Euv
Sihanouk wrote a few letters to Yuon
crocodile leaders. But he never ever received
any letters from his former comrades-at-arms,
Yuon crocodile leaders who bitterly paid him
back with their ungrateful crocodiles:
In late 1979, I offered to meet with Premier
Pham van Dong, without preliminaries and in
the city of his choice (including Hanoi), to
discuss possible peaceful solutions to the
Khmer-Vietnam dispute and the resumption of
friendly relations between our neighboring
countries. My three amicable requests for a
meeting were rejected; despite this rebuff, I
might add, my offer still holds.
So Crocodiles are still crocodiles. The
sharks are still sharks. The tigers are still
tigers. The lions are still lions. The wolves
are still wolves...etc. As the present-leader
of FUNCIPEC, Prince Ranariddh who clearly
tells us Khmer children a few years ago that
Yuon are very tricky: "Yuon tells us today
this and tomorrow they tell us otherwise." Tags : Sihanouk Cheng Heng En Tham Lon Nol Hun Sen Yuon |

SIHANOUK perfectly uses his Khmer old saying
goes: If you can't make up your mind [what to
do], you can't be a king. Norodom Sihanouk is
the greatest-genius man on earth who wasn't
afraid of being strongly condemned and hated
by his own people and the world. But in fact
the world never condemns him for his action
joining with the Khmer Rouge. The world and
million of his Khmer people still see him-the
only one man who could bring all Khmer
parties and Yuon aggressors who are the dogs
serving the collapsed Soviet into a
negotiating table with UN's intervention. And
this is the big risky important job that
Samdech Euv Sihanouk is to fight against the
Yuon leaders' super-dirty demonic plans of
planing to incorporate Khmer Krom, Khmer
Kandal and Laos into the satellites and
slaveries of Yuon Hanoi.
Pol Pot was used as a lethal weapon to
destroy Yuon beehives. Did Sihanouk use Pol
Pot and his close associates for his secret
policies?
why were about three million Cambodian lives
spent just like that? About 3000 000 million
lives of Cambodian victims were spent between
1975 and 1979, and more than 400 000 lives
again under K5 Plan of Hanoi aggression
between 1979 and 1991, which terribly
convulsed the world and UN not to forget
about Khmer Surin in Thailand and the Endless
Past and Present Unforgettable Painful
Suffering Tragedies of Kampuchean Krom people
who have been living under the brutal
domination and inhumane colonization of all
Yuon leaders whether in the past and present.
Samdech Euv Sihanouk, Pol Pot, Ieng Sary,
Khieu Samphan, Lon Nol and many more Khmer
heroes, who aren't afraid of being strongly
condemned to their death by their own Khmer
people and the world. The world and Cambodian
victims are too busy to condemn and accuse
all Khmer Rouge leaders for killing fields. Tags : Kampuchea Siahnouk Pol Pot Salot Sar Lon Nol Preah En Vietcong |

Sihanouk had no other choices but to join
with Vietcong in comrade-at-arm again. As a
Chinese proverb goes: If [you] don't go into
cavity of the tiger, how can [you] capture
its cub? He really wanted all Vietcong/Yuon
leaders to show up all their dirty demonic
tricky aims/plans whatever they secretly had
hidden in their heads. But he's got "Good
Blessing" from his best friends "Chinese" and
North Korean as his guarantors and
protectors. Without these protectors and
guarantors, his fate would have been like
Laotian royal families who were disappeared
forever under Hanoi domination and
colonialists since 1975. Look at Laos, which
has only name of Laos in appearance on the
international level, but in reality, inside
of it has been completely the slave and
secret-brutal rule of Yuon Vietcong
oppressors.
Saloth Sar knew that the army of Lon Nol
could not hold head with the Vietnamese. It
also suspected (even if it had not been
informed) that the Vietnamese at all did not
intend to give again in Sihanouk a real
capacity when the war would be finished.
While waiting, Sar estimated however that the
presence of Sihanouk to the head of a plain
face and anti-American would ensure the
Communists an international support.
The model of these diverting arrangements -
Elizabeth Becker A extremely precisely
qualified "room of the mirrors" - was the
national Face of release of Vietnam of the
South, whose socialist program and the bonds
with Vietnam of North were hidden with the
Vietnamese opinion and even with certain
active members of the FNL him even. Sihanouk,
always well in safety in Peking, where it
lived surrounded courtiers and parasites, was
since the departure only one symbol, although
it affirmed vigorously (and was undoubtedly
convinced) that the majority of the Khmers
liked it and that it would play a significant
role when the war would be finished. Its
Chinese guards, in particular Zhou Enlai,
granted an enthusiastic support to him, and
the publications of the national plain Face,
printed in China at the expenses of Peking,
gave the impression that the units of
guerrilla of Kampuchea fought for him.
Sihanouk, who has never been known to give up
easily, immediately began a crusade to regain
his country. Sihanouk believed that "What was
good for Sihanouk, would be good for
Cambodia." He created the resistance/maquis
known as the National United Front for
Kampuchea (FUNK) soon after his overthrow.
FUNK was a coalition of communists and
royalists. For the next five years, Cambodia
was mired in wars on several fronts, both
internally and externally.
The FUNK joined Vietnamese and Laotian
communists on the "single battlefield" to
struggle against "U.S. imperialism" under the
banner of the United Front of the Three
Indochinese People (UFTIP). Militarily, this
entailed combined military operations—that
is, guerrilla, conventional or proxy military
action as was expedient and/or possible
conducted from "liberated" areas of the
country.
These "liberated" areas grew as it became
clear that America would pursue a "retreat
with honour" policy with respect to South
Vietnam. Tags : Cambodia Lon Nol Saloth Sar Zhou Enlai FUNK VietCong Kampuchea Yuon |

Sihanouk who strongly branded Yuon
"Ingratitude Crocodiles", after he was spit
out like a cherry seed by Yuon Vietcong, who
had secretly impersonated themselves as the
leaders of super-illiterate-ignorant Khmer
Rouge yotheas and former cruel bandits,
brutally massacred both Kampuchea Krom and
Khmer Kandal people at their free will. All
It's really high time to let Pol Pot come out
of the jungle to tell the world about the
killing fields that secretly created by all
Yuon Vietminh and Vietcong, who were still
hiding everywhere in the jungles, had
tactfully impersonated themselves as the
leaders of the super-illiterate-ignorant
Khmer Rouge yotheas and former cruel bandits
who brutally massacred too far many million
Cambodian innocent peoples in the name of the
mysterious Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon.
Beyond Cambodia, Sihanouk looked to the
United Nations as the institution through
which his country's point of view could be
brought to world attention. He had attended
the 1958 General Assembly, but it was the
Fifteenth General Assembly in 1960 had he
made the greatest impact.
But whether they were friendly or not-with
American leaders they were usually the
latter-the relationships Sihanouk has had and
still has with the political leaders of other
countries are a further testimony to the rich
diversity of his remarkable life and to his
never-ending thirst for recognition as a
figure of important on the world stage.
Khmer New proverb: Angkor Wat wasn't built in
a day. (You can't achieve important things
too quickly.) King Sihanouk has been
patiently waiting for a ripe time for action
for nearly the rest of his life since 1970,
whose first aim is to bring Cambodia out of
the darkest hell on earth. The only way
society can be improved is to mold and shape
existing thoughts and ideas through time and
patience.
Chinese in ancient time used a few tricks of
hurting [yourselves] during a war against
foreigners' invasion of their country:
- A trick of using beautiful woman to lure
commander-in-chief/General and king/prince;
- A trick of hurting [yourselves];
- A trick of pretending to be dead;
Yuon leaders who, during a Bien Dien
Phu/Vietminh war and Vietnam/Vietcong War,
were very good at using beautiful women to
lure Chinese, French, Japanese, Yankees and
Russians the last. Because beautiful Yuon
women who are very good flirts making those
foreigners fall in love straightaway. This is
the most effective weapons Yuon communist
leaders perfectly used in the combats against
their foreign invaders:
The Frenchmen lost their faces/lives in Dien
Bien Phu because Vietnamese beautiful
women/mistresses. Frenchmen were married to
Vietnamese girls-far too many in those days.
I've quoted from Ho Chi Minh and the struggle
for an Independent Vietnam:- The French
government had been attempting to uphold its
colonialist position by ruthless violence,
against increasing opposition from the French
people, Dien Bien Phu was the last straw.
France was beaten. From then on, until the
return of the De Gaulle to power, France left
all military and political dealings with
Vietnam and Lao to the Americans, and
concentrated on re-building her economic ties
with those countries, retaining only neutral,
independent Cambodia within her sphere of
political interest.
Yankees also lost their faces/lives in
Vietnam/Kampuchea Krom War in 1975 because of
Vietnamese beautiful women/mistresses.
Americans have far too many
Vietnamese-American children left in Vietnam
when they ran away from losing war/underpants
to Vietcong and Vietminh. This is what
Chinese called "A first trick of using
beautiful woman to lure
commander-in-chief/General and king/prince.
And the best-effective weapons are used in
both past and present times to destroy and
kill the enemy on each side. As the world
already know the French colonialists and
Yankee Imperialists only brought their
shamefulness, disgracefulness and their
soldiers' bodies back to their countries
after they ignominiously lost their faces in
Indochina War. Tags : Kampuchea Khmer Cambodia Sihanouk Vietcong |

What about Prince Sihanouk? Did he dare to
use this trick of hurting [yourselves] or
not? Yes, he does. Why...? Because Samdech
Euv Sihanouk knows very well that there are
too many Vietnamese secret agents were
secretly hiding since 1945/46 in his
shoes/slippers, underpants/trousers,
T-Shirts/towels, coats/jackets, hair/head,
ears and nose, under his armpits and
everywhere...etc. in Cambodia. That's why he
sent the Three Ghosts to learn something from
their teacher-Vietnamese. And he also clearly
told General Lon Nol in Rome, Italy, to stage
17th March 1970 coup de tat against
Vietcong/Vietminh living everywhere in the
Cambodian jungles. And then he went to join
with Vietcong/Vietminh again after the coup
to drag them all out of the Khmer jungles
onto open space. As he clearly told to the
world:- "I had the honour of visiting North
Vietnam a dozen or so times. Each time I
stayed in Hanoi I had the opportunity to
speak at length, and I must admit cordially,
with North Vietnam's principal leaders,
particularly Pham Van Dong, Vo Nguyen Giap,
Truong Chinh, Le Duan, Nguyen Duy Trinh, and
even the very elderly, amiable, and lucid
President Ton Duc Thang."
Did Samdech Sihanouk really have a gut
ordering to kill the pure Khmer Rouge leaders
such as Khieu Samphan, Pol Pot, Ieng Sary,
Hou Youn and Hu Nim in his reign of Sangkum
Reastre Niyum? The answer in my logic with
thorough thought in my brain is "No". Why
"No"? Because Samdech Euv Sihanouk used his
"Secret Tricks" against Yuon leaders'
Super-Dirty-Demonic Tricks to make Yuons
believe in them that Samdech Euv Sihanouk is
so brutal ordering to kill his fellow
countrymen at his free will. When Yuon
leaders/Vietcong totally believed in them who
were automatically accepted as
comrades-at-arms with Indochinese Communist
Party was under the watchdog of all Yuon
leaders. And Yuon Communist leaders were at
that time so happy to receive their new Khmer
comrades-at-arm of men-in-black, the most
well-known as present days are the Khmer
Rouge.
To see Samdech Euv Sihanouk's secret tricks
by bullying and killing his fellow
countrymen: to play tricks on Yuon leaders
and the world:
At the same time Prince of Yuon
Scarecrow/Sdech Yuon Ting Mong (Sihanouk was
called this way by a Khmer author) boasted by
himself that "He ordered to kill 3000 Khmer
Rouge", and he said "He doesn't have a sin."
During the seven years which followed its
departure of Phnom Penh, Saloth Sar carried
out an existence of fugitive, hiding in camps
of fortune of the east and the North-East of
Kampuchea. It knew only one period of respite
in 1965-1966, when it remained eleven months
in North-Vietnam and in China. Most of the
time, Saloth Sar, Ieng Sary and the other
members of the central committee were cut
from what occurred to Phnom Penh and in the
rest of the world; only reached them from
time to other of rare news brought by
messengers of the party (called nir' sei, or
"right-hand men"), or heard on the emissions
in short waves of the Vietnamese and Chinese
radios.
And even after that, it was necessary for the
"Khmer Rouges" [Khmer Krohom], name that
Sihanouk had always given to the movement,
five years of engagements to control the
country.
An indirect effect of "arrangements" of
Sihanouk was that the Vietnamese asked the
Kampuchean Communists to provide them a
military and logistic support. Several
hundreds of Khmer Communists went in Vietnam
to follow a military and political formation
there, of course without the knowledge of
Sihanouk.
In 1960 he was called in for interrogation,
and one day in August that year plain-clothes
police thugs wet upon him in the street,
stripped him naked, photographed him and
pushed him, unclothed, on his way. That is
not the sort of humiliation that men forgive
or forget, but despite the assault upon him,
Khieu Samphan and other leftist, like Hou
Yuon, Hu Nim and Chau Seng, still look a
moderate line toward Sihanouk. In 1962, when
Sihanouk was trying to pre-empt left-wing
opposition by his own move left, Khieu
Samphan joined the Sangkum and won a seat in
parliament. Sihanouk made him Secretary of
State for Commerce.
His mother continued selling vegetables. He
had no large car and drove around on
motorcycle. He lost his job when he refused
to accept the bribe of a Mercedes in exchange
for issuing a trading licence. During the
same time, Communists like Ieng Sary, Saloth
Sar, and Son Sen were taking a much harder
line, denouncing Sihanouk (privately) as the
principal enemy of the Cambodian people and
the Revolution. These were the men who fled
the city in 1963, while Khieu Samphan, Hu
Yuon and Hu Nim stayed. Tags : Kampuchea Sihanouk Pol Pot Lon Nol Vietcong |
