Song: Stormy
You were the sunshine, baby,
Whenever you smiled
But I call you Stormy today
All of a sudden that ole rain's fallin' down
And my world is cloudy and gray
You've gone away
Oh Stormy, oh Stormy
Bring back that sunny day
Yesterday's love was like a warm summer
breeze
But, like the weather ya changed
Now things are dreary, baby
And it's windy and cold
And I stand alone in the rain
Callin' your name
Oh Stormy, oh Stormy
Bring back that sunny day
---- Instrumental Interlude ----
Oh Stormy, oh Stormy
Bring back that sunny day
Bring back that sunny day
Oh Stormy
Oh Stormy

Artist: Janis Ian
Album: Between the Lines 1975
Song: At Seventeen
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned
smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen
A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve
The rich relationed hometown queen
Married into what she needs
A guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
Indebentures of quality
And dubious integrity
Their small town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen
To those of us who know the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say, come dance with me
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
At seventeen

Artist: Eagles
Album: Long Road Out Of Eden 2007
Song: Waiting In The Weeds
It's comin' on the end of August
Another summer's promise almost gone
And though I heard some wise man say
That every dog will have his day
He never mentioned that these dog days get so
long
I don't know when I realized the dream was
over
Well, there was no particular hour, no given
day
You know, it didn't go down in flame
There was no final scene, no frozen frame
I just watched it slowly fade away
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for my time to come around again and
Hope is floating on the breeze
Carrying my soul high up above the ground and
I've been keepin' to myself
Knowin' that the seasons are slowly changing
you
And though you're with somebody else
He'll never love you like I do
I've been biding time with the crows and
sparrows
While peacocks prance and strut upon the
stage
If finding love is just a dance
Proximity and chance
You will excuse me if I skip the masquerade
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for the dust to settle down along the
Back roads running through the fields
Lying on the outskirts of this lonesome town
And I imagine sunlight in your hair
You're at the county fair
You're holding hands and laughing
And now the Ferris wheel has stopped
You're swinging on the top
Suspended there with him
And he's the darling of the chic
The flavor of the week is melting
Down your pretty summer dress
Baby, what a mess you're making
I've been stumbling through some dark places
Now I'm following the plow
I know I've fallen out of your good graces
It's alright now
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for the summer rain to fall upon the
Wild birds scattering the seeds
Answering the calling of the tide's eternal
tune
The phases of the moon
The chambers of the heart
The egg and dart
A small gray spider spinning in the dark
In spite of all the times the web is torn
apart
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for the time to come around again and
Hope is floating on the breeze
Carrying my soul high up above the ground and
I've been keepin` to myself
Knowing that the seasons are slowly changing
you
And though you're with somebody else
He'll never love you like I do

Song: The Candyman
Who can take a sunrise,
Sprinkle it with dew
Cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two
The candy man
The candy man can
The candy man can, cause he mixes it with
love
And makes the world taste good
Who can take a rainbow,
Wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a

The candy man
The candy man can
The candy man can, cause he mixes it with

And makes the world taste good
The candy man makes everything he bakes
Satisfying and delicious
Talk about your childhood wishes
You can even eat the dishes
Who can take tomorrow,
Dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the
cream
The candy man
The candy man can
The candy man can, 'cause he mixes it with
love
And makes the world taste good
And the world tastes good
Because the candy man thinks it should

Song: For The Good Times
Don't look so sad, I know it's over,
But life goes on and this ol' world will keep
on turning.
Let's just be glad we had some time to spend
together,
There's no need to watch the bridges that
we're burning.
Lay your head upon my pillow,
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine,
Hear the whisper of the raindrops blowing
soft across the window,
And make believe you love me one more time,
For the good times . . .
I'll get along, you'll find another,
And I'll be here if you should find you ever
need me,
Don't say a word about tomorrow, or forever,
There'll be time enough for sadness when you
leave me . . .
Lay your head upon my pillow,
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine,
Hear the whisper of the raindrops blowing
soft across the window,
And make believe you love me one more time,
For the good times . . .
For the good times . . .

Artist: Carole King
Album: Tapestry (Remastered) 1971
Song: Tapestry
My life has been a tapestry
Of rich and royal hue;
An everlasting vision
Of the ever-changing view;
A wond'rous woven magic
In bits of blue and gold;
A tapestry to feel and see;
Impossible to hold.
Once amid the soft silver
Sadness in the sky,
There came a man of fortune;
A drifter passing by.
He wore a torn and tattered cloth
Around his leathered hide
And a coat of many colors;
Yellow, green, on either side.
He moved with some uncertainty
As if he didn't know
Just what he was there for
Or where he ought to go.
Once he reached for something
Golden hanging from a tree
And his hand came down emp-ty.
Soon within my tapestry,
Along the rutted road,
He sat down on a river rock
And turned into a toad.
It seemed that he had fallen
Into someone's wicked spell
And I wept to see him suffer,
Though I didn't know him well.
As I watched in sorrow,
There suddenly appeared
A figure gray and ghostly
Beneath a flowing beard.
In times of deepest darkness
I've seen him dressed in black.
Now my tapestry's unraveling;
He's come to take me back.
He's come to take me back.

Album: Long Road Out Of Eden 2007
Song: Busy Being Fabulous
I came home to an empty house
And I found your little note
"Don't wait up for me tonight"
And that was all she wrote
Do you think I don't know that you're out on
the town
With all of your high-rollin' friends?
What do you do when you come up empty?
Where do you go when the party ends?
And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
I don't know what you were dreaming of
Somehow you forgot about love
And you were just too busy being fabulous,
uh-huh
A little time in the country
A day or two to slow down
A bottle of wine and a walk in the moonlight
Maybe some foolin' around
But you think time is just a magazine
And money's just a thrill
I've waited so long for you to change your
way of livin'
Now I realize that you never will
'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
Lookin' for something you'll never find
You'll never know what you left behind
'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous,
uh-huh
You tell a joke and everybody's laughin'
That's something you know how to do
You've always been the life of the party
But now my baby, the joke is on you
'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
Running after something that never comes
What in the world are you runnin' from?
And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
To drink the wine from your winner's cup
To notice the children were growin' up
And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy, too busy
Too busy
Aw, baby

Artist: Janis Ian
Album: Between The Lines 1975
Song: Between The Lines
There's never much to say between the moments
of
our games and repartee
There's never much to read betweeen the lines
of
what we need and what we'll take
There's never much to talk about or say
aloud,
but say it anyway
Of holidays and yesterdays, and broken dreams
that somehow slipped away
In books and magazines on how to be and what
to see
while you are being
Before and after photographs teach how to
pass
from reaching to believing
We live beyond our means on other people's
dreams
and that's succeeding
Between the lines of photographs I've seen
the past --
it isn't pleasing
So strike another match
We'll have another cup of wine
And dance until the evening's dead
Of too much song and time
There's never much to talk about
Or read between the lines
Of what we dream about
When we're apart
And no one's looking on
To say you're mine
It was a good year then, it was a good year
then,
we all remember
The time you threw the looking glass and
seemed a fool
or very clever
Don't spoil it all, I can't recall a time
when you were
struck without an answer
We'll live a quiet peaceful time between the
lines
and go together
And I'm striking up the band to play our last
hurrah
We'll dance until we've killed another
evening off
Don't think of anyone but me
I'll have no lovers on the side
Tonight is all we've ever dreamed about
For once let's get it right
We'll go down flying in the end
Throw another bottle in between the lines
I'll go down like a ship of state
Let's be gracious now
Between the lines
