Straight from the lips of Simon Cowell- The
STRANGEST Show ever. 5 Idols, 10 songs and
just 1 hour to squeeze it all in= confusion
for poor Paula!

My opinion is this- Ryan changed the show in
midstream. Earlier he said this show was
going to be done differently. The
contestants would each sing two songs, but
they wouldn't hear from the judges until
AFTER HIS OR HER SECOND PERFORMANCE.
RYAN REWROTE THE SCRIPT. He quickly gathered
all the Idols centerstage after Syesha sang
her first song. You can tell that she didn't
even know where to stand. Then Ryan asked the
judges for a quick assessment of the "Round
1" songs.
Randy was able to deliver, as was Simon. But
Paula was totally confused. You can see Ryan
turning to a director to his right and
receiving some kind of feedback. Randy tried
to save it, then Simon and Ryan.
I do believe now the judges probably sit in
on the song rehearsals...and take notes.
I heard this a while ago: Did you all know
that the "let's take a look at the numbers
one more time" before the phone lines are
activated uses clips from the rehearsals? I
have always thought it would be interesting
to compare the phone number "montage" to what
we actually saw performed in the show.
