This song is based on a melody that blew into
my head this morning when I was at work
feeling a bit ill. I wrote the melody
(roughly) on an index card and then brought
it home to work on it.
There are three images on the paper on my
music stand that I used for inspiration:
Night Hawks by Hopper,

I really hope you enjoy this piece. This is
my favorite of my own work so far. This could
be some of the best work I've done period.
This is semi-improvised. You can see a paper
to the left that has some notes, mainly
chords written on it that I referenced to
several times in the song. I had practiced
for an hour creating ideas, and the song that
I made, while it certainly has an outline...
is improvised for the most part. There is no
sheet music, and certainly not a set path for
the song.
Sorry about youtube cutting off the end. I
may make a video with the ending... Stay
tuned.
I'd call this genre
Jazz-Classical-Contemporary fusion. Tags :Improvisedpianooriginalsongjazzclassicalfusion
The images are taken mainly from:
http://cgfa.sunsite.dk/fineart.htm and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
and they are out of copyright.
The music is "Viata, viata de tigan" (Life,
Gypsy life) from the album Ges Romano by
Romanian-Rroma artist Marius Mihalache. You
can read about him at
http://www.mediaround.com/marius.html
The images suggest in a chronological manner
that the Gypsies are all over the world like
these paintings are in the museums all over
the world Tags :mariusmihalachecembalotambalromaniafusionjazzgypsypaintingBouguereauRenoirCorotHalsRousseauMurilloResler
