This is a song I wrote recently called
'Unfold'.. it's probably the most personal
song i've ever written . it came out of my
frustration at my tendency to shut people
out. Especially in love, i found myself
always finding reasons to back away and i
couldn't figure out why. This song is
literally, my thinking process in trying to
understand how i became this person and if i
have the power to change it. here are the
lyrics:
Unfold -

is alot like water
trickling down a page
of the most beautiful colors
i can't quite put my
finger down on the moment
that i became like ... this

and yet i shrink down to nothing
at the thought of someone

I was captivated by this song when I first
heard it. I listened to it the 2nd time and
the third time decided to record and
improvise on the fly. It probably could have
sounded beter with the mix and working out
the parts, but I wanted to capture exactly
how this song made me feel and translate my
feeling through my violin.

These are the videos that started Uncle
Crispy Productions... one thursday night we
brought 2 cameras to a show, the next day the
first Uncle Crispy video was edited, and the
rest is history. This was one of the last
times the band performed at Java Joes without
mics. This was also Jason's second show after
having recorded his Elektra Album, so some of
the songs were still new. It is a classic
Java Joe's show, just Jason, Toca & Ian and a
coffee shop full of fans!
