The Ventures vs. Indorock (The Black Dynamites - Honky Tonk
Beware: although it states Ventures vs. Indorock it's NOT about one being better than the other at all!
Because both the Ventures as well as these Indorock bands are fantastic in their own right and no doubt have long paid their dues.
It's about the difference between the music of the Ventures and Indorock music.
Of course both the Ventures and Indorock have so much in common (instrumental repertoire, both started in the 50's, their love for rock & roll as well as many other musical styles including jazz, country & western, hawaiian music, etc.) and therefore many times the Ventures music and Indorock music have been compared to each other.
However, there is a significant difference between the two.
Even when playin' the same songs, the musical approach is very different.
Instead of endlessly tryin' to explain what perhaps is unexplainable, I just figured it might be wiser to let you all experience the difference yourselves by postin' a few of these songs side by side.
I always start off with the Ventures first and directly after that follows the Indorockin' version of that same song.
